MY Samsung HCN4226W have perfect sound but no picture

My television began showing a red sceen with horizontal lines. Finally all of a sudden sound stayed on and screen went totaly dead. I tried adjusting the F/S adjuster and the HV adjuster but no result. Manufacture date is August 2003, serial number 3CEW800594A. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I had the same experience with my set. I noticed there were 2 new cables attached to the new board and looking carefully noticed the connectors were different from the old. The new connector fit perfectly into the new board but wasnt the same as the old. I replaced the old cable with the new and the TV remained bad. I then flipped the connector to the main circuit board (bottom left) and the new board worked fine. I know nothing about Tv repair, but this new cable seems to be a universal connector in which the contacts are open on 2 sides...allowing them to be flipped if necessary. Now if I could get that solid line out of the display I'd be set!

Check to see if you have the 117 volts you need to power the Flyback Transformer. You can test this at the connector labeled CN801 at TP61 and grd. If you do not have power here check the fuses around the T801S Transformer. They are little green components that look like resistor and labeled with an FD.
