Cannot open programs in control panel. 4 days premium techs have been working on the issue, no success. Can control panel be uninstalled and reinstalled?

Hi!

Sadly, the Control Panel cannot be removed and then re-installed. Typically I see this issue if Windows is not genuine or hasn't passed activation.

If you go into Start > then type in sysdm.cpl (provided your system is Windows 7), this should get you into the System section of your Control Panel. Near the bottom of this window, does it say Windows is activated?

I've provided a list of accessing all the applets inside of the control panel for your reference, below (again, assuming you're running Windows 7):

I got a laptop from my sister and she cant remember the password to it. I have downloaded windows xp recovery but idont know how to operate it when i install the disc. what do i do from there

Turn the laptop off then turn it on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly. When you see the option of SAFE MODE select it. Let the computer boot all the way up to safe mode and when successful you will see the login user accounts for Administrator and the one which you sister forgot the password. Select the Administrator account and pray that she did not password protect it and forgot it also. If you successfully get into windows with the Administrator account do the following. Click Start/Control Panel/User Accounts. When the user accounts come up select your sister's user account then look for the option to Remove the Password. Remove the password then reboot your laptop.

Hi there !

I am here to help you to solve your problem.

I believe your print spooler service stop running or your spooler is confused pending some queue at the print spooler service.

To resolve this, follow this procedures.

Go to START MENU
Choose RUN (For Windows XP) or Choose Commamd prompt, right click mouse and run as administrator ( For Window vista and windows 7)
Type the letter "cmd"
Type the word "net stop spooler"
Exit
Go to C: drive
Choose to Windows Folder
Click show content
Choose system32 folder
Choose spool folder
Choose printer
And delete all printing jobs pending
Again go back to CMD window and type the word "net start spooler"
Restart your computer and must also turn off your printer and then switch it on.

It will work fine right now
I hope it helps you

Why does my Brother printer goes into Sleep mode and I can't print??

I have copied in the illustrated instructions for resolving printer status is Offline or Paused. (For Windows®) but if distorted please view here.

Description:
To solve the problem, please see the following:

  • If the printer status is Offline:

Check that the printer is online using the following steps:

VERIFY THE BROTHER MACHINE IS POWERD ON AND THERE ARE NO ERRORS

    1. If the LCD screen is blank, then the Brother machine is not powerd on the machine to see if it wakes from sleep mode. If it does not, then verify that it is plugged into a working outlet and any power switches are turned to the ON position.
    2. Check the LCD screen for any error messages. An example would be "Paper Jam" or Ink/Toner Empty". If the LCD screen shows an error troubleshoot to clear the isssue indicated.

    CHECK THE PRINTER STATUS

NOTE : These steps or screens may differ depending on the operating system.
    1. For Windows® XP Users:
Click Start => Printers and Faxes

      For Windows Vista® Users:

I HAVE TO START MY COMPUTER LAST GOOD CONFIGURATION. WINDOWS DO NOT START NORMALLY. THERE IS A AUTOMATIC CHECKING OF DISKS IF WINDOWS START IN NORMAL MODE ,HOWEVER AFTER COMPLETION EVEN THOUGH DISK CLEAN...

Hi,

If this happened after installing IE8, I would suggest you try and start the computer in safe mode and then uninstall. Go to C:\WINDOWS\ie8\spuninst and double click on spuninst.exe (picture of a computer). This will revert the system back to the previous version of Internet Explorer.

Restart the pc and see if it loads back into windows OK

If this does not fix the issue, go back into safe mode, click on start, run, msconfig. Click on system restore and follow the instructions. This will take you back to a previous point in time so make sure you choose a time when the pc was working.

If you are unable to get into safe mode or the above still does not work, then there may be a corruption in Windows. You would need to think about repairing windows or recovering windows back to the way it was when you bought it with your recovery discs or a Windows XP CD

Hope that helps
