CRT discoloured Hi everyone, I bought a few days ago a used Lacie electron 22' Blue II monitor and im experiencing some problems and wondered if anybody here can help. The right top corner of the monitor is discoloured (slightly yellow) and i notice some red bleeding against the blue log on windows screen on the left when ever i turn the pc on. Now I contacted the guy I bought it from and he said the problem is minor and easy fixable by using degauss. I have done this and to my knowledge the screen does it automatically when turned on anyway. But no luck. the discoloured patch persists.I had some speakers around the monitor but after a bit of research, i found out that they may cause the problem so i moved them away. Does any one know if this problem is easyly fixable as the seller suggested? or is the screen faulty? Any help will be appreciated. thanks

If it's a deguass problem, you can glue some very small magnets to the sides of the crt tube itself, it could be the shadow mask, inside the monitor, and if it is then nothing will fix it, if you can get a deguass coil from somewhere that would tell the story real quickly

Im useuing a lg crt 15 inc monitor, few days ago im connecting my pc with samsung lcd 22 inc monitor, but the problem is when im re connecting that crt monitor its only show out of frequency.

the resolution might be too high for the CRT monitor, try to lower the resolution if your going to connect the CRT monitor..., the 22 inc monitor obviously have much higher resolution that the 15" crt monitor. i think the max for that is 1024x800.. hope this helps :)

I have a LiCie electron Blue crt monitor. I have

You have a bad connection or break in the wiring. Fix that and your monitor will work properly. Could be the wire itself or the plug you use to plug into.

Monitor goes to standby mode intermittent.

make sure the video cable is inserted firmly. is it is, the video cable wires are loose inside the monitor which it is not getting the signal, telling it to go on standby mode.

Monitor goes to standby mode intermittent.

Sounds like this one needs component-level troubleshooting in the power supply section.

Lacie Electron 22 Blue Monitor problems

This problem sounds like it has to do with your video adapter settings rather than the monitor itself. What way have happened is that your screen resolution size decreased (explaining the zoomed in), while the desktop size remained the same (explaing the ability to slide all over the place.). All video adapters are different, but try the following. Right click on your desktop and select properties. Go to the Settings tab. Do you have 2 slide bars there? Possibly one for Screen Resolution and another for Desktop size? If so, are they set to different values? Go resolve the issue, set both sliding bars to the same values, for example 1024 by 768 pixels. Adjust these setting to get back to the settings you had before, making sure that both values are the same.

Lacie 19" Electron Blue - Black screen with a brilliant white line across

I have 2 of these monitors and have this problem. I was so frustrated turning the monitor off and on until the white line disappeared that one day, I punched the screen. And it worked! So now whenever this happens (about once every other day) I use my palm and smack the lower left corner of the monitor until the white line disappears. I like the color on these screens so I don't want to replace them until I have to. I will NOT buy another Lacie though.
