Try and alter the contrast settings. If the scanner does not pick up 'data' including folds, you'd blame it for non-performance!

How do i send my application forms if they are on paper?

put in an envelope and put a postage stamp and address on the outside of the envelope and then put it in a post office mail box that collects mail to be posted.

If you were referring to email you need to scan the documents and save them to a file. Then you to email and compose an email message and click on the attach a file option and attach eack scanned page via its file name.

If you do not own a scanner
if the place you are sending the application forms has a fax then find out the fax number and then send each page via fax.
If you do not have a fax machine check with your local newsagency if they have a fax machine that you can send faxes on for a paid price.

  • Under select document type, click envelopes the active document becomes the main document
  • Click Next: Starting document.

Can you print address on envleope

Yes you can print an address on an envelope. Do you have Microsoft Office? If so, click on new office document and click the tab that says Letters & faxes (for versions before 2007) and choose the label wizard. When the window opens, click the tab that says envelope instead of label and follow the prompts to type in the information you want to print on yoru envelope.

If you have Office 2007 - or newer, click on new office document and then choose blank document. Click on the tab at the top that says mailings and then choose envelope and type in the information you want to print on your envelope. Then click on file, and print. You will need to load your envelopes in the printers tray and put them in the correct direction according to the settings your machine requires. You might need to waste a few envleopes until you get it right.

Using a brother MFC-J415W printer, what are the steps in sending a fax?

How to fax :
1. Entering fax mode To enter fax mode press (Fax), and the key will glow green.
2. Sending a fax from the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder): Using the ADF to send your faxes is the easiest way. To cancel a fax in progress press Stop/Exit.
a. Make sure you are in Fax mode . b. Place your document face up in the ADF. c. Dial the fax number. d. Press Start.
The machine scans the pages into memory and then sends the document.
3. Sending a fax from the scanner glass : You can use the scanner glass to fax the pages of a book, or a single page at a time. The documents can be up to Letter or A4 size. Press Stop/Exit to cancel a fax in progress.
a. Make sure you are in Fax mode . b. Place your document face down on the scanner glass. c. Dial the fax number. d. Press Start. The machine starts scanning the first page.

Need to print a half-fold card envelope with HP Photosmart C4480

I'm printing wedding invitation envelopes (or A6) and had to set both my C4480 and psc1315 to a regular size 8.5x11 letter size but changed my margins to reflect the smaller size for my envelope with the left side of the screen being the more narrow margin. After adjusting the top margin accordingly, I fed the envelopes, flap side down and straight into the printer and voila...envelope addresses are printed. Good luck. Blu

Won't recognize legal size paper

I have a Brother MFC-8840Dn (full legal-size flatbed as well as document feeder). I use Windows XP Pro and a USB connection. I'm not sure my fix works with other Brother models or different Windows operating systems, but it's a way to start troubleshooting at least.

I've always been able to print legal-sized pages from word processing or spreadsheet programs and receive legal-sized faxes. But I never could make legal-sized photocopies or PDF scans. The image was always cut off at Letter size. The fix is a Brother Utility set-up setting:

*** Go to Start / All Programs / Brother / MFL-Pro Suite MFC 8840Dn / Scanner Utility. (This link may also be called something like Scanner Settings.)
*** At the "Maximum Scanning Size", select "Legal" instead of "Letter/A4".
*** Click OK and restart your PC for the new setting to take effect.

It's like magic -- I can now scan a full legal-sized PDF, whether on the flatbed or through the ADF. I also tried a compressed TIFF scan and it came out fine.

**** Make sure your software and/or Brother Control Center scanning configurations are set to Legal if that's what you want for the particular image scan. The Brother Utility setting simply enables the option of choosing the larger legal-sized paper, which then allows the full legal-sized image scan, You always have to set your software to make that choice, just as you would to make and print smaller images on Letter, A4, envelopes, etc. (NOTE: I always start scans through software on my PC, like Adobe Acrobat or PaperPort, and the Utility Setting fix is working fine. However, I just tried pressing the SCAN button on the front panel of the MFC itself with a legal-sized document on the flatbed and through the document feeder. I still got Letter-sized image scans. So, there must be another setting somewhere for starting scans directly from the MFC that I'll locate later.)

I was about to buy a different brand of scanner because of the frustration with legal-sized images. It's like having a new scanner now :) I hope this Utility Setting info helps you troubleshoot your legal-sized image problem.
