Hi guys....ive been at repairing car amps for years but i dont know much about tvs.....my personal tv,a rca t25062 is giving me problems....recently, once its been on for a half hour and warmed up,starts having fits where it will shut off,or try to shut off severel times then finally shut off(power light blinks off fo ra second then back on)....im wondering if theres any common issue with this chassis(like bad solder connections, transistors that intermittently cut out when hot,etc...... if theres a common fix PLEASE let me know id love to fix this myself. mike
First thing to check would be L401. Its a small coil from the secondary side of the horizontal driver transformer to the Base of the horizontal output transistor. Not a solder problem, You must take it out and scrap off the leads to remove the excess enamel paint the reinsert and resolder. Also check connections on the driver transformer too(horizontal). Next check for bad solder connections on the flyback transformer too. Good Luck PS please dont forget to rate this thread.

hey.....i went ahead and resoldered basically every solder connection on the board because i saw alot of poor solder connections(ring in the solder, only half-soldered,etc) so now the tv stays on and works ok....but apparently i created myself a new problem....
now the tv does stay on, but on some channels the screen "clips"...what i mean is the top and bottom 2" of the tube are black-it looks like im watching a wide screen dvd or something.... but it only does it on certain chanels......other channels work fine....sometimes this clipping will come and go with different scenes on a tv show....(one scene its fine, cut to another scene and it clips)
so what do you think i did????? any obious places i should desolder and try again? thanks guys i do appreciate the input.
Hey it has been 8 months and the tv is still working fine... the screen clipping was caused by out comcast cable bix0something to do with it because its hdtv ready and of course this old tv is not ..tried 3 other tvs and they all do the same exact thing
Mine clips like that on all inputs and channels and also has lines below the black on top of screen??
