First thing to try would be to take out all of the batteries, including the clock battery if there is one. Wait 12 to 24 hours and reinstall the batteries. If that does not work, then there is a problem between the microprocessor and the varactor tuner inside this radio, and unless its less then one year old ,for warranty repair, it most like would not be worth the diagnosis charge or repair charge. Good Luck PS please do not forget to rate this thread

Alpine 9886 with sirius interface

This problem sounds very sirius. Sorry, couldn't resist, but "siriusly", the song alert feature is supposed to be something you select yourself, so it locates a particular song whenever it is played on the service. Do you recall setting this?

Are you using the Alpine KCA-SC100 tuner or another?

I would try resetting the radio too.

Can not tune tv since change over

The KV-32FS100 only has an analog tuner (NTSC). Unless there is a low-power analog station still broadcasting in your area, you will not be able to watch OTA stations. (I've got one in my area that barely comes in.) If your local cable still sends an analog signal, you won't need a set top box to watch that subscribed service.

Otherwise, you need a set top box to watch TV. A digital to analog converter (the boxes that were available with the government coupon before the switch over) will give you over the air stations. The basic models only provide SD output; there are a few HD models available. Otherwise, you can use a satellite reciever, cable box (for digital cable service), or something like the Boxee or Sling with tuner. (There are a few different models of the Boxee; one added a tuner with a USB dongle. The newest model of the Boxee has the ATSC tuner built in.)

Note: OTA digital signal quality is either a strong enough signal for the tuner or no signal will be present. You need to point the antenna in the correct direction to receive the signal from your local transmitters. The type of antenna and its placement will also change the number of watchable channels. You can use antennaweb.org or tvfool.com to get more information. Antennaweb assumes an outdoor antenna but gives a conservative list of stations. If the signal is split to several devices, you may need an amplifier to get a watchable signal. (Sometimes amplifiers fail and you won't receive any stations, so test without the splitter or amplifier by using a direct cable to one TV.)

I hope this helps.

I just bought the RCA CD/DVD home theater system RTD206. I cant figure out how to change the radio channels. Also cant figure out how to change the cd disk tracks. Does this system have a remote. Or do...

The system does have a remote (at least it should come with one if purchased new), and you need it to control pretty much everything. Here's what the manual says about the radio tuner (you can find the whole manual here) :

Manual Tuning
1. Connect the FM aerial and the AM loop antenna at the back of the unit. Rotate the AM loop for
better reception.
2. Press TUNER to enter TUNER mode and toggle between FM and AM.
3. When the FM station broadcasts Stereo sound, ST is displayed.
4. Tune a station by pressing repeatedly the TUNER+/- buttons until the desired station is found.
Alternatively, you can press and hold the same buttons down for about one second to activate
the automatic search function. In this mode the player will automatically tune frequencies until
it finds a station.
5. Repeat step 4 to tune to another radio station.

Storing radio stations
The player can store up to 30 radio stations in its memory. You can enter every single radio station
yourself or the player can store all available radio stations automatically in ascending order.
Automatic preset programming
1. Press TUNER to enter the Tuner mode.
2. Press and hold TUNER down for 3 seconds to start automatic preset programming.
Note: A weak signal can affect the "Automatic preset programming" function's efficiency. Adjust the aerial for better
reception and a more efficient search.
3. Radio frequencies will be browsed and radio stations stored automaitcally. When all the available
radio stations are stored or all 30 memory locations are full, the auto preset programming
function will stop.

Manual preset
1. Tune to a radio station (see "Manual tuning" for details).
2. Press MEMORY once to enter flashing Preset Loaction number.
3. While the Preset Location number is still flashing, input your desired preset number (1-30) using
the numeric buttons or press the CH+/- buttons, then press MEMORY to store it.

Retrieving preset stations
1. Press TUNER to enter the Tuner mode.
2. Press CH+/- to search up or down for the preset stations or directly press the numeric buttons.

As you see, you really need that remote. The same is true for disc play. While there are front panel buttons for play/stop, disc skip, and drawer open/close, you don't have any other control without the remote. Without the remote control you'll find this system won't do too much, unfortunately. If you bought this new, check the packing material before you throw it away to make sure the remote's not still somewhere in the box. They often come tucked into slots on the foam inserts.

Also, when you hook the unit to a TV, it's just using the TV as a video display device. The TV has nothing to do with any of the system's other functions.

I hope you have luck locating the remote! Thanks for using Fixya.

How to change tuner to pick up all frequence's eg: goes from 95.5 to 95.7 how do i get it to change to 95.6 thanks jason

It will only tune into odd numbered stations because US radio station only broadcast in odd number stations (ex 95.5,95.7,96.3). You can change the area. Area 1 is North America, Area 2 is other areas. Press "Menu"->"Setup"->"Tuner"->"Tuner Area", then select 1 or 2. After setting, press and hold "Menu" for at least 2 seconds. This may give you the frequency you are looking for.

LXI tuner not working

Unfortunately without the make and model, there is little that we can do to assist you. There are too many tuner designs to be able to give you any useful information. Please try the unit in mono mode and with any "muting" turned off. If you receive stations with the muting and stereo modes turned off, the problem is with an I.F. amp stage. If you receive nothing, that is informative as well.

Please investigate a bit more and post the make and model and I should be able to assist.

Thanks,
Dan
