I recently purchased this, and have not been able to get the picture quailty anywhere close to actual, It is very green, and whenb I adjust Hue, I don't get any red. I would think that for the amount I have paid, this should be an automatic function.

Re: Color on 40" Sony Bravia LCD/HDTV
Sounds like you may have a problem with the video driver boards? I would call up the store where you bought it and ask for a new set or service on this one. good Luck

ACTUALLY WITHOUT SEEING YOUR PROBLEM PHYSICALLY I CANN'T SAY ANY THINK, BUT FOR YOUR KNOWLEDGE LET ME TELL YOU NO TV MAKES ANY KIND OF SOUND DURING SHUT OFF. & you are saying for more than 30sec, i think you should call the SONY TECHNICIAN for visit.
Try plugging the coax directly into the T.V. or from you VCR or DVD player then to the TV. The bravia sets also have various picture mode settings as you will discover when you go through your manual. Cable boxes or splitters can cause problems also is they are not of good quality. I love my 40.
