Horizontal Lines I found in my Canon PowerShot S 500, in the screen, the image appearing having horizontal lines in it, in the replay after imaging and replay mode, and after it is on the computer, the lines appear in the picture clearly pixelating the picture horizontaly, while in video mode, no lines appear at all while videoing and viewing the video. in the viewing mode normally before taking the picture, i found that there is very light lines cannot be seen easily, but became clear when i tried to shoot a picture of the light at the ceiling, i found pink lines indicating the glow of light around the lamp itself. i dont know what happened to it actually but i tried to reset the setting by pressing the set button for more then 5 seconds as mentioned in the manual, and after reset, nothing changed, lines are still there. please help me as soon as possible because i have a shooting contest this week, i need the solution urgently. thank you abdalla

Poor resolution with horizontal lines

This is known problem of ccd imager chip failure in Canon A95 camera, ccd imager chip will be replaced to get clear picture. It was coincidence that problem occurred at same time when you did some settings but it is not setting problem.
Canon offers free of cost ccd imager replacement.

Washed out image with horizontal lines

Don't know about the internal clicking noise, but the washed out screen with lines sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.

Cannon s 500 Picture with Just lines

Hi,
This is a known issue with Canon, it's mentioned on their support pages, FAQ ID: 37383. Horizontal lines appear in the preview picture once the photo is taken. I have a Canon Ixus 500 and I rang Canon UK and they gave me a case number and list of authorised dealers via email for a free repair.
