At the beginning of the boot, try pressing Alt-F10 (it might be another key, like F10 or F2 or DEL). It will go into the recovery partition.

I do not know my empowering technology password for my acer aspire 5050 and I want to set my laptop back to factory settings

First plug in the Notebook to a power socket with your adapter. Power on the Notebook and you will see the Acer splash screen. Immediately press ALT and keep tapping F10 at the same time. It will take you to a screen where you will see "windows is loading files" or "starting acer recovery" it will ask you, how do you want to restore?" choose the option "restore to factory default" and click continue. It will go through the restore process and within 15 - 20 minutes it should finish the process. Your Notebook will be back to factory default settings.

Please leave your valuable feedbacks and ratings.

Touchpad scroller stopped working on my Acer Aspire 4920

Go to control panel and look for touchpad icon. You can change the settings in here. If there is no touchpad icon try the mouse icon as sometimes there is a touchpad settings tab in there. Hope this helps.

Problem with Acer Aspire 4920 notebook

all laptops are supplied with a pre installed copy of windows and the product key will be on a genuine windows sticker on the back, unless you have no sticker, in which case you will need to purchase a copy, as nobody is likely to be able to help if you have no product key and no Vista disc

Acer apire 3000 keeps freezing!

The first, best thing to do is to back up your data and do a system restore. Acer's have the restore function usually built into their acer system management software.

Restoring the computer will solve most issues. If you keep having issues after the restore you probably have a hardware error like a bad hard drive or bad memory.

Be sure to back up any important data as the restore will erase everything from the hard drive and set it back to the way it came from the factory

Good luck!
