I have a Coby TF-DVD1591 that when turned on will work fine for about 20 minutes and then the vidio starts to scramble a rectangular bar comes across the bottom of the screen with squiglie green and red lines then turns off. with a push of the power button it comes on again and works fine until it shuts off .What can be happening with this set?

Something is triggering the shutdown circuit in the set--could be almost anything connected to the set's power supply.

Yes Rhonda, first you need to do a self test to show what is going on inside set. You can search threads on test or goto ctechnicians.com. This will put you in the ball park of what is going on.

SOURCE: TV shuts off

I would suggest that you guys turn the unit off when this happens, unplug the unit for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and see if this helps. If this does not solve your problem, you should call 1-800-448-2244, so a service center in your local area can be found for further assistance.

Sounds like a capacitor on the power supply is bad. Easy fix.

Coby 26" loses sound after a few minutes, any guess why?

Electronics can fail after they warm up. When they cool down again they start working again. The electronics need replacing, on this TV its cheaper to replace the TV.

My Coby dvd7107 has sound but no vidio, if you

Do you get the welcome (Coby) screen when you first turn on?
If not then it may be the brightness or contrast needs turning up. Or even the backlight is burnt out, as basically it's a bulb behind the dislpay screen.

SONY MODEL KDF-E42A10

Sony model KDF-E4210 TV works fine for about 20-30 minutes on HMDI video 6. After that, the HD channels scramble (wavy video). I have swapped out and used the component cables and the same thing happens. Time Warner came out to check their box and all checks out.

Coincidentally, this started after I purchased a Wii and go back and forth from Video 2 (wii) to Video 6. Now is happens just on Video 6 after 20-30 minutes. Could this be an issue with the TV?
