Plumax enclosure: Respected sir/madam, I have purchased a 5.25" HDD plumax enclosure. This model has a built in power supply. While this unit functioned well for a few months, currently, the power supply adapter located inside the enclosure is not working. When connected to an alternate power source the HDD functioned well. The local service personnel in my town, asked me to fetch a replacement power adapter that fits into the enclosure and provides the power supply for my HDD. Please let me know if I can purchase this component online so that I can get my enclosure repaired by the service personnel. Thanking you for your time in this regard.

Yes you can replace the old defective power supply with the new atx but the problem is the size. It the size it fit to your computer nothing to worry because power supply now is almost the same output only the wattages changes.

To remove the Keyboard you'll need a flat head screw driver, there are 3 levers that holds the keyboard inplace. look closer they are above the following keys "Pause break" "F8" and "F2" (tips: remove the one in the middle "F8" first it makes life a lot easier) use the flat head screw driver and put the lever upward towards the screen and the key board should pop up

Start from the top and start peeling off the keyboard, there might be a little bit of tape sticking to the keyboard so becareful, watch out for the cable that is connecting the keyboard and the board, carefully remove the cable and the keyboard should come right off.

the problem must be with the step down transformer,it must not be adequate for the xbox power needs..an option would be to buy a proper transformer from play-asia.com at http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-er-49-en-70-1pnk.html (i buy my games there,they are good)

SOURCE: I have a Plumax enclosure I am trying to use.

Try hooking it up to a different USB port. Go to computer on the start menu and see if your computer sees it. Try restarting your computer with the hard drive already connected and turned on, the computer may recognize it then.
