it means your camera is still using the in- built memory in the camera. Follow the instruction manual/ user guide that came with the camera, to programme picture storage into the 2GB memory card. QED.If still not rectified, pass a comment. If satisfied, send a remark.
Plug the SD card with contact terminals facing away from battery. It most likely is using internal memory which is much smaller. All cards under 4gb are normal SD. The camera should be able to format the card, or use an adapter and windows will format (default settings).
i know it's not solving your problem, but at least it stop from happening again...
You can protect images/video clips from being accidentally erased using the protect function in the Playback menu... see also:
