Won't turn off

You can try and fix it yourself first. Go to the SanDisk support site and look for the "Updater program" run the update on your player before contacting support for a repair.

This is normal when the Sansa is connected to a computer. You can use it while charging if you connect it to something else. For example, you might have a cell phone with a USB charger that plugs into a wall outlet. You could connect the Sansa to it, and it would let you listen while charging.

SOLUTION 1 - Make sure player is fully charged.
1. Connect the player to the PC.
2. Make sure the computer detects the player.

NOTE: If needed, switch the player to MSC mode, then connect it to the PC.

3. Leave the player connected for approximately 2 hours to charge.
4. Disconnect the player from the PC.
5. Verify if you can turn on the player.
6. Reset the player if necessary.

when its charging make sure it say connecting

shut the unit off and wait 10 seconds then turn it back on.

That is normal behavior for the player. The functiosn only work AFTER you've disconnected it from the computer.

Go ahead and do this, in case the DB is corrupted:
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. SanDisk Sansa View - Reset - Use the slide switch on the side and hold it tward the Mic hole for 10 sec. Start the computer program before you plug in the View??

These don't charge. They use a battery.
