Hi, My microwave door does not shut. (R-1481)
The black latch on the handle is not broken or cracked.
All the lights and everything works.
I unplugged the microwave
I took off the key pad panel to expose the wires.
I look to the side where the latch is suppose to latch on but I don't see why it isn't latching on.
I'm pretty good at fixing things if I have good instruction.
Can anyone please help me? I would like to fix it instead of spending the money to buy a new microwave.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
blessedmom
I have removed the door and found in fact the tabs inside are broken off by the spring. I'm not sure where to go from here. I do not think I can glue them back on. I answered this personally via e-mail (and I do not mind peopke writing me personally). I think you may have a broken tab which holds the door latch head spring in place.
