The driver board is going bad it sounds like and if you do not call up and get it fixed under warranty, as it should still be under a warranty, then its going to be a nice hefty repair bill. Good Luck

Call Samsung customer support. I had the same problem and a Samsung Field Engineer came out to my house and adjusted the vscan voltage to get the red dots out of the Gray/Darker colors. This is a typical adjustment for some plasma's and was painless from my perspective. Most of the time for this fix was taking all the screws from the back panel off and on to get to the adjustment. This was all covered under warranty (including labor). Samsung has a great warranty for their plasma's..

Faults & possible causes to LCD screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent.
If you are using an HDMI cable, be sure that is rated a "high-speed". Lower quality cables cannot handle the bandwidth and can cause red spots on the screen.
I had a similar problem but mine was just red specks that showed up in dark scenes. I opened up my plasma and found the adjustment pots that are labeled Vsc, Vy. I then marked the factory default with a sharpie first. Then I lowered the Vy a little and my red specks disappeared. Now my tv looks awsome again like it was new.
This is a "mal-discharge" fault & will need either an adjustment on the Y-Sustain board or a software update to the control board. Contact your LG dealer to arrange someone to sort this out for you.
This problem (known as sparkles) can be cured by adjusting the ramp control on the Y-Sustain board. If this does not cure the dots then there is a software remedy for the control board which an LG repair centre could fix. Failing that a replacement board is required. The orbitor & whitewash are like screen savers to help to prevent a screen burn from a permanently displayed image.
Sounds like something might be heating up you could get a can of freeze from radio shack and spay it on the ic's one at a time till the problem goes away to locate the bad part.
