Driver Problem I have been using this printer for a while, and the scanner just stopped appearing in scanner list. When i search for it in programs, it doesn't come up. I tried reinstalling the driver - didn't work. When i go to control panel, system, hardware, device manage... it says that the driver is corrupt. However I don't think that's the problem because a friend has had similar with other hardware and I'm thinking that all this is because the computer updated, but the driver hasn't. Can someone please tell me how to fix this or tell me where to find the driver. Thankyou in advance.

The software should have come with that printer. If you installed the printer and can print from it, and it is also a scanner but no scanner icon is present or found in the printer folder, type scan in the search box (windows 10) and a list should appear with FAX AND SCAN on it. Click on that and the program should open. Click on NEW SCAN and place the document on the scanner and follow the prompts.

To solve this issue, please install the latest scanner driver. If you use MFL-Pro Suite Software,

1. Click Start => Control Panel => Programs => Programs and Features.
2. Select Brother MFL-Pro Suite from the list, click Uninstall and follow the on screen instructions.
3. Once the uninstallation is completed, disconnect the interface cable and restart the PC.

If you do not use MFL-Pro Suite Software,
Make a temporary folder on your HDD to save the downloaded self-extracting file, e.g. C:\bront

Please click here to download the uninstall tool to remove the drivers.
Once downloading is completed, double click the downloaded file to extract it.

"ZIP Self Decompression" appears. Click DECOMPRESS.

"The decompression process was successful." will appear. Click OK.

A folder will be created in the temporary folder created in Step 1.

Open the folder and double click DelInf32.exe. "Brother MFC Uninstaller" dialog box will appear.

Select your model and click OK.
"Complete" will appear. Click OK.

Once the uninstallation is completed, disconnect the interface cable and restart the PC.

4. Unistall old driver install new.

1. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.

2. You need to stop the printer spooler service as follows:
a. Click Start.
b. Type ‘cmd’ in the Start Search box. -Search results should appear-
d. Right‐click on ‘cmd’ in the search results, and then select Run as Administrator.-The command window will appear- (black window)
e. Type ‘net stop spooler’ into the command window and press <ENTER>.-The Print Spooler service should now be stopped-

Next, delete the printer drivers from the system as follows:

---Warning--- These steps will remove drivers for ALL printers installed on the system.

1) Click Start.
2) In the Start Search box, type ‘C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Drivers\w32x86’ and press <ENTER>.
3) Delete all the files and folders in this directory.
---NOTE--- There may be some files that will not delete because they are being used by Windows.
Click on the Ignore button to bypass deleting these files.

With the drivers uninstalled we now remove the Dell printer software.

1) Click Start.
2) Click Control Panel.
3) Click Programs.
4) Click Programs and Features.
5) Click the software related to the attached Dell printer to highlight it.
6) Click Uninstall/Change.
7) Follow through the prompts in order to remove the software.

You need to delete the Dell printer from the printers list.

1) Click Start
2) In the search bar type “Printers” and press <Enter>
3) Select any and all Dell printers and press <Delete>

Now delete any OLD drivers from the Server Properties Window.

1) Click Start
2) Type Printers into the search bar and press <Enter>
3) Press <ALT> to bring up the file menu.
4) Select Run As Administrator then Server Properties.
5) if the UAC window appears just click Continue.
6) Click on the Drivers tab.
7) Select any Dell printer drivers listed.
8) Click Remove, and then select Remove Driver and Driver Package.
9) Select Yes to confirm removal of the driver.
10) The system will now scan to see if it can remove the driver.
11) Once it has finished scanning click on Delete.

-Repeat the last 11 steps for each Dell printer driver that is installed.

At this point, you should be able to install the latest printer software for Vista from http://support.dell.com and be able to print successfully.
-NOTE- It’s been reported that some driver installations in Vista can take up to 10 minutes. Be patient and please wait for the driver to fully installed.

7. Click Have Disk. The Install from Disk dialog appears.
8. Click Browse and select the Lexmark CD from the Look in drop-down list.
9. Double-click on Drivers.
10.Double-click click on Scan, select the lxbksxp file, and then click Open.

11.Click OK. The following screen appears:

check all cables if it is connected directly
check device manager for imaging device see if there is a conflict update the driver
if same hotswap, then try another cable

Scanner Driver Removal

If you see a window that says User Account Control at any point, click Continue.

1. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer and close any open windows.
2. Click Start, then select Control Panel.
3. In the window that opens, click Uninstall a Program under the Programs heading.
4. Select Epson Scan, then click Uninstall/Change.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the removal and restart your computer.

Scanner Driver Download

1. Go to www.epson.com select your contry
2. Under All-In-Ones, select Flatbed, then select your model from the list.
3. Click on Windows under Drivers & Downloads.
4. Download the most current version of the Scanner Driver for your Windows operating system to your Desktop. Make a note of the file name in order to easily retrieve it.

Scanner Driver Install

1. Double-click the downloaded file on your desktop.
2. Click OK, Unzip, then OK again.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation and license agreement. The installer will copy the files to the system.
4. Click Finish when prompted.
5. Turn your unit on and reconnect it to the computer after the installation is complete.
6. Windows should detect new Hardware and complete the installation automatically.
7. If a New Hardware Wizard appears, allow it to search automatically.
8. If a message appears indicating The Scanner has not passed Windows Logo testing, click Continue Anyway. Then click Finish.
9. Restart your computer before testing the scanner software.

How to Scan
Scanning Single-page Documents or Photos

1. Turn on your computer and printer, and make sure they are connected.
   
2. Load your original document or photo.
   
3. Click Start® Programs or All Programs® Dell Printers® Dell Photo AIO Printer 926.
   
4. Select Dell All-In-One Center.
   The Dell All-In-One Center opens.
   
5. From the Send scanned image to: drop-down menu, select the program you want to use.
   NOTE: If the program you want to use is not listed, select Search for more... in the drop-down menu. On the next screen, click Add to locate and add the program to the list.
6. Click See More Scan Settings to customize your scan.
   
7. When you finish customizing your settings, click Scan Now.
   

Scanning Multiple Photos or Multiple-Page Documents NOTE: Some programs do not support multiple-page scanning.

1. Turn on your computer and printer, and make sure they are connected.
   
2. Load your original document. For more information, see Loading Original Documents on the Scanner Glass.
   
3. Click Start® Programs or All Programs® Dell Printers® Dell Photo AIO Printer 926.
   
4. Select Dell All-In-One Center.
   The Dell All-In-One Center opens.
   NOTE: You can also open the Dell All-In-One Center from the operator panel on your printer. For more information, see Using the Dell All-In-One Center.
5. From the Send scanned image to: drop-down menu, select the program you want to use.
   NOTE: If the program you want to use is not listed, select Search for more... in the drop-down menu. On the next screen, click Add to locate and add your program to the list.
6. Click See More Scan Settings to customize your scan.
   
7. Click the Advanced button.
   The Advanced Scan Settings dialog box opens.
   
8. On the Scan tab, select the Scan multiple items before output check box.
   
9. Click OK.
   
10. When you finish customizing your settings, click Scan Now.
    After you scan the first page, a prompt appears requesting the next page.
    
11. Place the next sheet on the scanner glass, and click Yes. Repeat until you finish scanning all pages.
    
12. Click No when asked for another page.
    The program opens with the multiple pages scanned.
    

Try reinstallying the printer driver, but first remove the printer program.  Then, reinstall everything and try it again.  Unplug and plug the printer in.
