Sony KV-32HS510, worked perfect, turned on the next day and all I gat is flashing red light.
When I turn on my TV there is a click like it want to start, butthe erd light keeps flashing. It flashes six times, waits a second and then repeats six more flashes. It keeps going through this pattern and it will not let me reset it. Is there something I could purchase and replace to reset my set? It is less than three years old, it is too young to die.
Please advise.
Thank you,
Matt ☺

Re:
Your tv does not need a reset, what happened something went bad inside the set and it needs to be replaced,if you are familiar with tv service you can start by checking the horizontal output transistor for a short,if he went bad it likely made the fuse or safety resistor open.If you are not too familiar with tv service be safe and call for assistance froma servicer. If you decide to go in looking for problems make sure the set is not plug in.Let Us know how it goes or if you need more information.

Hi Matt,
A supply of about 10 to 30 Volts (start-up) supplies a few milliamps of current to an integrated circuit (SMPS) which starts giving out pulses at about 15KHz for 625 line systems.
The pulses switch on and off the Line Output Transistor, or a Power Transistor which energises a transformer.
The transformer provides all the voltages required to work most of the circuits. A voltage takes over from the-start up supply.
If this does not happen the start-up circuit has another go.
The number of attempts varies with the TV.
If there is a blown fuse on the P C Board, there is sure to be a short circuit line output transistor.
Replacing the Transistor may bring the set to life, but it may fail again due to the fault which caused the transistor to blow.
If you get a service engineer, he will check other components such as the Line Output Transformer before switching on again.
Build up of dust, and damp conditions may cause failure, so clean out occasionally with a long wooden handled artists brush

10,000 continous woking hours is calculated to most of the CRT based TVs.
It is only calculation, but the life span might be much more that that. I've repaired a Sony TV recently, which was released by Sony Corporation Japan. The model is KV1820, an 18" Trinitron TV, still works perfectly. Just see, it is an '80 model one. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
KV-32HS510 and KV-27HS420, seven times blink error code shows problem in Horizontal deflection circuit.
There are many possibilities like dry solder joints, weak capacitors, Horizontal transistor short or flyback transformer fried etc.
If you have little experience of TV repair and good solder skills and have necessary tools to test / check defective parts, then you can make it. you also need to have related service manual to see board location, schematics and part numbers.
Sony FD Trinition Wega KV-32HS510 Try to turn tv on -it starts then shuts off -stand by lights keeps flashing. Memory stick light flashes then goes off.
tv wont turn on when i hit power it makes the clicking noise like it is going to turn on, but never does and the red timer light next to the power button just flashes. help! trinitron kv29f1u only clicks and blinks
When I turn on the TV I hear the click sound and the TV powers up. Immediatly the red (standby) light begins to flash 6 times on and off. this happenes only in the morning, but after 5:00PM when youturn on the TV as if nothing is wrong.
I think I have the solution for you. I have the same tv and it does the same thing when you turn on the power button on the remote when the tv turns on you hear a click then the red light flashes about 5 to 6 times then the tv comes on. on the remote there should be two buttons on top of the remote one says power and the other one says system hit the power button to turn on the tv when you hear the click and see the red light flashing then hit the system button which will turn off the tv then hit the power button again and it will turn the tv on without the red light flashing it should work
