Question about Acer AL1711 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor
We have repaired a couple of these. R1 on board normally burnt also C6 and C22 bad on inverter board. Replace these and it will probably work. R1 is 10 ohm. Capacitors are 220uf 25v.

More likely you need the inverter and not the lamp. The inverter supplies the power to light the lamp and that's what usually fails. Also, the inverter is replaceable but in many monitors the lamps are not. There may also be a fuse inside that has blown. I've seen two monitors (not Acers, though) where the inverter fuse was bad, and they've been fine after replacing it. (No reason found for the fuse to be blown, so I just put in another and it lit right up.) You might try contacting Acer to see if you can purchase the part from them, or check online for other suppliers (do a Google search for "acer inverter" or the like).
