You probably have a thermal problem.Get some mr.freeze and try it again .when the radio goes out spray some Mr.Freeze onto the final area.Just a dash will do,don't want to freeze the parts just want to cool the down quick to see if the radio comes back on. If it does go to the final when it goes back out and spray a little on it .If it comes on then change the final and problem almost solved. Now wait to see if it goes out again , If it does then you have to get a block diagram to work from and spray some Mr.Freeze on the main IC while you're at it. If it comes on then it should be changed .Now that everything is new it had better be working but if not start spraying other componants until the radio comes on and stays on .

I have a superstar 3900 black but on am no mod but it keys up fm usb and lsb are fine

check the am voltage regulator. you should have 12vlts on pin 1 ,4volts on pin 2 ,13 vlts on pin 3 . go to ( CB tricks .com ) its the same board layout as galaxy 44 . http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/superstar/3900/graphics/ss3900_sch.gif if you are looking at the board on solder side ,knobs faceing you ,it is located on top left hand corner ,about 1 inch down you will see the slot cut into the board .if you have vlt on pin2 less than 4vlts or higher than 8vlts its bad. Fm adjustmet for the galaxy dx 29hp

Do you mean the FM Deviation or Detector Adjustment? I haven't found a schematic on the DX29HP yet but it may be the same as the DX33. NO GAURANTEE! The DX 33 has VR5 as the FM Deviation. You'll want to borrow or buy an FM Deviation Meter to adjust that. The FM Detector is L5. You'll need to Connect an AF VTVM or scope to IC2 Pin 7. In FM, Set FM RF Generator to 26.965 MHz (CB Channel 1) and at a level of .5uV deviated 3 KHz with 1KHz audio tone.
Reduce the volume as you need to. AGAIN!!! THE DX29HP MAY NOT BE ANYTHING LIKE THE DX33. If you are not sure, please pay someone to make the adjustments for you. It's a pretty nice little rig.

Backlighting not working on a dx 33 hml

The Galaxy DX33HML does not have backlighting. If you mean you have Nitro knobs that don't work, you should take it back to whoever installed them. There is no way to tell how they were wired.

Does the galaxy dx 44 v have dual finals ? thanks

No, the Galaxy DX44V is a single final radio. It is a 1969 transistor (tr43) mounted on the rear chassis in between the RF driver amp transistor (tr44) and the antenna jack.
For locations, see the following page:

DX 2517 and DX 2527-
Symptom:Buzzing or motorboating sound in either the transmit or receive.
Problem: TR602 is oscillating
Cure: Replace C602 with a .01uF cap {Cap is located in the power supply board}.
RG 66,99,DX2517 Replace Q54 2SB754 60watt 7A with a higher power 2SB817 100 Watt 12A. Derating of this component will cool operation, provide better voltage stability, decrease wobble, allow voltage increase to 14.5 volts comfortably. (replace 10 volt caps in this section of the radio to a minimum of 16 volts before increasing supply voltage to this level)and provide faster swing rise time, Replace Q37 2SA473 to a 2SA1012-0 or ECG153 this will improve the clarity and volume of the modulation and it will also run a lot cooler.
