My laptop fails to boot up. On switch-on the processor fan comes on and the cd drive can be heard powering up. Then there is 4 beeps at one second intervals with a 3-4 second break. Nothing else happens, no screen etc. Can anyone help?
If this is a motherboard problem, where do I get one?
Had motherboard out last year to repair power socket. Dont mind replacing motherboard, not sure where to get one! also not sure how to check bios settings when the thing does not give any screen indications.Had motherboard out last year to repair power socket. Re:
Can you get into the bios and check that all settings are at default, just to check a few things, also check time and date see if they are incorrect, although sounds like a mobo fault, not worth buying another board, messy project in a laptop.
It may be that your memory is either loose or faulty. Try re-seating and if you have 2 in there try with only one. If you still have a problem replace with the other. Can you get into setup to see cmos setting etc?

Do you have any cd's in the cd drive or any floppys in? it could also be a usb flash drive or external hard drive. If its none of those check the bios settings and see if your hard drive is in the boot order. If its still doing it after that I would say it could be a corrupted hard drive or corrupted os on the hard drive. If all else fails try to do a system recover using the recovery cd's. if that fails its a bad hard drive.
If you still have the cd set (recoovery cd's) that came with your computer insert the first disk and reboot the computer. Make sure your bios setting are set to boot from cd first. The screen will propmt you for recovery. If you do not have them you can order the recovery cd's directly from hp/compaq. they are very inexpensive.
ser guides are here: http://support.fujitsupc.com/CS/Portal/support.do?srch=GUIDES I didn't see this model listed, so perhaps the number is wrong? If you have an operating system disk, you should be able to reinstaIl by just inserting the disk and following the prompts. checked one model, and that seems to be the method Fujitsu uses.
