How do you change the magenta, yellow and black toners on the dell 3100cn

I don't know how to change the toners in my printer. I was able to change the cyan, but can't see where to change the magenta, yellow and black toner cartridges. I don't have the book to the printer.

The toner carousel must rotate, so that you get the slot for the other toners in front of you.

Just wondering: my printer's yellow and black toner are both empty and need replacing. Would this cause the printer to calibrate for minutes at a time? After calibrating, I tried printing a document with...

If your going to print in color may it be just red or blue. You really need all of the cartridges for it to work. Because for the printer to come up with those colors. It would need all three colors Cyan, Magenta and Yellow to come up with the any color, in your problem, Blue and Red.

Dell 3100cn laser printer poor print quality

It sounds like you've got contamination on the drum cartridge or on one of the toner cartridges.

I'm actually going to be installing black toner in my 3100cn in about 8 hours, so I'll inspect and clean each of the carts, and write up the process for you tonight.

Either the "toner cartridge sensor" N4445 isn't reading the chip in the toner,

or an MCU board P5281 or EEPROM is defective

Right side no yellow ink

You can get the manuals for the 3100cn printer from the Dell support website (http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/3100cn/en/index.htm). They include some troubleshooting steps for determining what is causing a number of different problems with the printer. Did you make sure there was nothing blocking the toner on that side of the toner cartridges you replaced? If you haven't already tried it, I would also suggest cleaning the printer to see if that fixes the print problems you are seeing. The User's Guide (in the link above) has a section describing how to do this. If that doesn't fix things, run the tests for print quality and contact Dell support (contact information is in the manual, or on the Dell.com website). Hopefully this will help you get the problem fixed if you haven't already done so. Larry Dell Customer Advocate
