Milk froths at 1st then doesn't after 1 week

I have the Krups combo model #xp2070. I am on my 2nd one and have the same problem. When frothing the milk the 1st week, it works perfect and after a week or so, it will not froth and the steamer makes the loud noise as though the water ran out but it did not. The water tank is in securely. I called the company and they thought it to be weird and maybe the place I bought it got a bad batch. I feel it is something easily fixed, what are the odds it happens in 2? It heats the milk but doesn't froth it. any suggestions?

Yes, it is used properly as it does work at 1st. This is the 2nd machine I am on and i am still w/in my 30 days so I am about to make 1 more attempt at a replacement. What are the odds that 3 have this problem? Thanks for the help!

Ensure first that you are using the steam pipe in the correct way to froth the milk.

If it still does not work, that means that the steamer is not generating enough pressure steam.

This happens either because there is not enough heat, or if you release the steam when pressure is not enough.

If you think you are doing everything in the right way, then contact the company and insist for having the machine fixed or replaced.

The odds that 3 have same problem is quite scarce, but bear also in mind that Krups are not the best at frothing milk, and this is also a basic model.

If you want the best capuccino Coffee machine, buy the italian ones, Gaggia, Delonghi, Ariete etc. that are all great at this, or get a bigger Krups as a replacement like the Krups XP405040 that is also good at capuccino

My nespresso machine won't froth the milk

Brand of milk definitely matters... Here in Canada I used Sealtest 1% when I first used it and the froth was thick light and luxurious. Then one week picked up Neilsen 1% and found it produced absolutely ZERO froth. Back to Sealtest...back to froth. Milk brand matters....but don't know why.

Frothing

You should try to hold the steam end half a centimeter lower the top surface of the milk and try to have it with a slight angle in the pot with milk and near to side of the milk pot about 1 centimeter. If the steam end goes very near to the top surface of milk and for seconds goes above and then back into milk this can create the bigger bubles foam milk.. So with a very steady hand you can create very nice smooth foam. Also remeber that should stop heating anymore the milk after 72 degrees selcius the point at which you can not leave your hand out on the pot for more one second this point you must stop. After the 72 to 75 degress you could burn the milk protein and any foam already created will desapear just like that.
Try also in youtube "milk frothing" and you find many videos on how to do it.
Good luck.

The steam wand is bubbling the milk, not frothing

THere is a little black tube inside - make sure its pushed out enough - about 1/16 an inch from the bottom. And you may have to clean it out. Happens to us too and after I do the above it works

Aeroccino deosn't make froth

Our aeroccino worked fine for 2 years and suddenly it didn't made foam anymore. We tried the "inverting trick" without much success. We contacted Nespresso and they suggested switching from regular fresh milk (we used 2%) to UHT milk (harder to find in US) and to use it cold and freshly opened. So we tried that and it works.
Hope this solution works for you too

Not frothing milk

that means that the steamer is not generating enough pressure steam.

This happens either because there is not enough heat, or if you release the steam when pressure is not enough.

Very common problem with the american maid makers.

My Krups XP4050 frother heats and makes bubbles but no froth

It doesn't froth because the air hole in the frother has become plugged with dried milk (cream). There are two types of frother - old one was a black rubber nipple with a stainless 2-3inch air tube rising above the milk. The plastic insert has a pin hole (really about the size of a straight pin!) that clogs. Use a sewing needle or straight pin to clear it.

No froth

Make sure the small metal tube is clean as well as the holes in mounts into. The tube can be removed easily from the rubber ends and cleaned. I've had my unit for a year now and we use it ever day without this issue ever happening. I did have the constant beeping water leaking from the seat/valve problem which I fixed by opening up the unit and tightening the screws.

Aeroccino does not heat

Try descaling, if the element is covered with scale it wont produce enough heat and pressure.

The machine is Krups, and therefore should be covered with one year warranty. Call the number listed on the user manual, or find contact from websites below:
