CDM-8915 PHONE IS DEAD!

Hello,
The phone dropped into a puddle of water. I later found it and it worked for a few hours. The next morning, no life. I tried recharging battery. After inserting the battery, the vibirator activitated and stay activitated until I pressed the "ON" button to turn on the phone. Now there is no response. How can I access the phone numbers? I don't care about the phone. I care about the phone numbers and not losing them. Will new battery work? Since I see that this model is discontinued, are batteries still available?

The solution: I left it alone for 24 hours.
Here's what I did:
I plugged the charger in and allowed it to charge overnight. No lights or screen or screen appeared but I kept it in anyway. After charging, I removed the battery and cleaned all the contacts with Isopropyl rubbing alcohol. When I reinserted the battery, it vibrated intensely, which indicated a strong battery. I did not turn the phone on right away but waited a day. When I turned it on, it responded like nothing was wrong. Perhaps the phone reset itself. That’s how it behaved.
In any event, I have my phone back and it’s working well.

To summarize what happened:

The phone drops into a puddle and is partially submerged for an hour or so. I find it, dry it off and make some calls, with no effects of any kind.
The next morning, it fails completely. No response whatsoever. I recharge the battery and that doesn’t work. What did work was to remove the battery and clean all the contacts and reinsert it and leave it alone for a day.
Lesson learned: record all phone numbers before I lose them forever.
Also, get a better holster so that the phone is secure from falling out.

Thank you very much for your support.

Bill

Dropped Blackberry 8100 in water now wont turn on...

Get some ipa [isopropanol] leave phone submerged in same for a few hours [with battery removed] then remove from ipa, leave for 24 - 48 hrs as long as you can and it should come back to life. All the components in your phone are waterproof so the ipa will eliminate the moisture and should make you happy again.

I dropped my LG enV into a puddle of water.

Sounds like you will need a new battery. My env2 would only work if plugged into the wall charger after I dropped it in the toilet. I got a new battery and it works fine now!

Phone fell in puddle

Sadly I think it is too late to help. If it had water inside, that probably shorted it out. However, in the future, you should take the battery out as soon as possible to prevent this.

If you want to try something, just let it dry completely and then try using it again. I doubt that this will do anything, but it might end up working.
