Question about PreSonus FIREPOD (673454000539) Audio Input
I have the same problem with my firepod, I have sent it in for repair, I don't know what company you were talking to but when I called, I was talking to a human on the second ring of the phone, I was transfered to a tech and talking to him in less then 5 minutes. All the workers at presonus were very nice, they knew what the problem was and sent me an email with info on how and what to do to send it in. Maybe it costs 85 bucks, but I have had pretty good luck with my firepods so far, so it is worth it to me. I have talked to presonus a couple of times and everytime I have had the same result. As a matter of fact the second time I called them I asked them that if I could get a copy of cubase LE4 since my firepods had just LE with them, and they sent me a copy no charge in less then a week. So I give presonus a thumbs up!!!!

I would suggest that you don't but any presonus products again. I am having the same problems with this unit. What a royal wast of time and money. And it's made in China.I am thru with this company.

Yes, i agree with many of the comments above as far as having them repair the unit adequately. this is the second time within a year that something has gone wrong with our firepod- (for 50 bucks more you can get a motu/8pre!)
some of these comments have been stated , but i would check everything out before sending/repairing-
1.check firewire cables, new cable,+ connection to firepod (flimsy)
2.check with another computer - should check out and sync automatically without installing drivers (they say)-
- in/outs preference window/audio; audio/midi set up window pref/audio/driver in daw
3.have the computer and firepod connected with the firewire-
and then do a restart on the computer- sometime this will sync - also might try turning the firepod off and then back on with firewire cable connected to computer
4. if none of this works- either send it back and cross your fingers- or junk the thing (all this wasted time!) and step up to a motu/8pre-ive heard good things about this for only $50 more

Don't send it back. they've repaired mine it took 5 weeks to repair it plus time for shipping. they didn't even repair it correctly the inputs were so loose that the cable was literally falling out of the unit. I had to send it back again this time they told me it would only be one week. I told them I wanted a brand new one. they refused to give me another one unless it fails again. they're trying to repair it as slowly as possible so the warranty runs out. i'd never pay these guys money to fix my firepod. When i call for an update on the progress I'm on hold for at least 20 mins everytime no matter what time of day it is. I can watch an entire tv show before some one picks up. they feed you the same ******** too. it's being worked on right now and they're making sure the unit is working before it is fixed. HA!! I'm trying to find the ceo's phone number or something becuase no one else wants to help me.

Could be a bad cable, bad firewire card in computer, or the unit is damaged. Might want to connect the unit to someone else's computer with a new Firewire cable. If this doesn't work, chances are that the unit is defective. I have the same problem right now and I'm having to send the unit back to Presonus. They charge $85 for parts labor and the return shipping. The replace the entire board, so it's like getting a new unit. Hope that helps. Jackie

Insert the "Getting Started" CD that came with your device into your PC and follow the prompts.
Note: The disk will detect what operating system you have and what sync software you have loaded. If you already have ActiveSync installed on your PC, it will not give you an option to install it from the disk (same for WMDC) until it has been removed from your PC.
The phone reboots after install.
And done
