I think the fuser is in your **** part. This problem can be corrected by sitting in a tub of salt water. Make sure the printer is plugged in and is powered on. Is the display lit? If it is place the printer in the tub of water you are sitting in. You sould now be able to realize nobody cares and it no longer matters

FUSER does not hold any powder. The toner holds the powder. When the paper gets pulled in toner gets placed on the paper and slides under the fuser. The fuser is always "hot" and bonds the powder "toner" to the paper. There is a few other things that go on but thats the main thing. If you are getting that fuser error that means 95% of the time that you need to change the fuser.

50.1

A low fuser temperature error has occurred, possibly due to an inadequate external or internal power supply.

this basicaly means that either the dc controller board is on its way out (expensive) or that there is a drain on the power line.
if you have it plugged into an extension lead try plugging it directly into the wall socket. if this fails also try using a different power lead (very easy to get hold of and are normaly called kettle leads)

Hope this helps

The fuser module actually fuses the toner to the paper, there is no real equivelant part in an inkjet. If you are getting a 'too hot' message, it is because you are printing very frequently, or you are printing large documents. Turn the printer off for at least 30 minutes, then turn it bvack on. This should allow the fuser to cool and clear the error.

Hi,

When the fuser unit in your printer gets too hot, your system would start showing fuser error and this error is usually displayed as "Service Required Fuser Error". To resolve this issue, you would have to switch off your printer and wait for sometime for the system to recover. After that restart your printer and try again.

The followin article describes with diagrams how to locate and replace a fuser module in an HP Laserjet 3500. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=125&prodSeriesId=315862&prodTypeId=18972&objectID=c00046239 The fuser is the component that holds the powder that gets printed, or fused, to paper. Think of it as the equivalent to an ink cartridge in an ink-jet printer.

SOURCE: Fuser Error 50.1 Fuser is hot. What is a fuser?

MAKE SURE THE PRINTER IS OFF AND INPLUGED BEFORE YOU START! The fuser is located in the back of the printer. You should see two blue pads where your index finger and thumb (on both hands) should pinch together then pull the fuser out. Re-seat the fuser back into its original position and wait 20 minutes before turnging Unit back on. If you do not wait 20 mins then the 50 error will appear again even if the problem is fix. Once you wait 20 minutes and it still gives you a 50 error you must replace the fuser. I have a great place to purchase fuser so let me know if you nee contact info!
