Hi,
I have a Nikon 3200 Coolpix camera. I recent used my camera normally, viewed some photos. Couple of days afterwards when I went on to start it, it does not start up. I checked the batteries and they are fully charged but still my camera wont start. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be and can I be able to fix it ?
Thanks in advance.
Nitin

If anyone reads about this problem it is the picture button. I have two of these and I had to swap out the picture button and now I have one working camera.
Just FYI.
Hi Nitin,

This sounds like a digital logic problem with your camera's electronics. Contact Nikon at 1-800-NIKON US (1-800-645-6687) 9AM-8PM EST, Monday through Friday and they will be able to advise you.
A program such as "Pandora Recovery" has worked for me when I had deleted photos off of a SD card.
Not as many photos I used the free version up to 1 Gb. Suggest attempting to copy, if possible, the 3.2gb to another drive before starting any recovery.
If priceless photos suggest finding a professional recovery service and pay the $$
The flash uses more battery than anything else. Try turning off the flash, you may be surprised at the results. The number two power hog is the screen, and it's worthless at the beach or in any bright sunlight. That's why I won't buy a camera that doesn't have a view finder. Still, you should get a lot more than 12 shots from a pair of lithiums. I have a pair of lithiums in a Canon Power Shot that have taken hundreds of stills and quite a bit of video (all outdoors, no flash or screen) and are still usable.
A System Error is a general error which can be caused by many things: lens problem, CF Card problem, general camera failure, etc. Before sending the camera in, check these:
1. Use the memory card that originally came with the camera (or a Nikon approved card) 2. Remove and replace the battery
If the error is still displayed, contact Nikon's Service Department (below). If the above tips do not help the camera must be sent to Nikon Service, there are no user serviceable parts on Nikon Coolpix cameras.
The Coolpix 2200 / 3200 camera is designed to use 2 (two) AA type batteries. Due to Nikon’s advanced power management technology, two standard AA Alkaline batteries can provide more than 100 photographs. For better performance, please consider using Nikon EN-MH1 rechargeable batteries. These are available as an optional accessory at Nikon dealers and at The Nikon Mall
Recently a new type of battery, the CR-V3, has been released to the market from several battery venders. The CR-V3 is similar in shape to two connected AA batteries and easily fits in your Coolpix camera compartment.
Nikon has confirmed compatibility only with the following battery brands. Please use one of the following brands when using CR-V3 type batteries.
Duracell
Sanyo
Panasonic
Due to it’s unique design the Eveready Energizer® brand CR-V3 battery may not be compatible with the Coolpix 2200/3200 camera.
