Question about Canon MultiPASS MP370 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Black ink not printing properly

The black ink section is not working correctly - only prints bits here and there. Have tried 3 different cartridges with the same result, so it is definitely not the cartridge itself. I have tried everything sensible like self clean processes from the software, shutting everything down etc.etc. Advice gratefully received

Hp Officejet 6000 not printing black ink, I have replaced ink cartridges, checked contacts, cleaned print heads, still not working

Try taking out the printhead and let it soak in "window cleaning" solution overnight or for about 8 hours. It should unclog the printhead nozzle. Put it in about half inch of the solution. It always worked for me. Make sure you wipe it dry un the back of the printhead when putting back into the printer.

I have a Canon pixma mp990 Recently it has stopped printing with the larger black ink cartridge that is meant for printing text (PGI-220BK) All the other cartridges print fine I was using a non-canon...

It looks to me that your non Canon cartridge has blocked the print head. I see this all the time. Remember the compatables are not pigment based but just watered down ink so you can get it to flow through a syringe into the cartridge. This however is the classic outcome of trying to save a few pennies on an expensive bit of kit!

It won't print in black. We have tried 3 differant cartridges. At times it prints a shasding of the image. All the other colors work fine.

Use the HP Printing Assistant software to run a few "print-head-cleaning-cycles".
The BLACK ink-jets are CLOGGED. So, no ink from any of the 3 different cartridges reaches the paper.

Bland and color cartridges have been refilled but

Ink level counter (program) didn't read actually ink at ink tank. Brand new cartridge ink level counter 100% (full), and ink 100% (about 10 ml). After may printing, ink will dry out, and ink level counter reach zero (ink out). Printer will not allow print anymore, even have refilled, because ink level read "ink out". For canon type, you just to release ink level counter, and counter just stop, but printer will allow to print. Press stop/reset button for about 30 second.

Compatibles wont work

Try this:

The HP all-in-one product will print black copies using both the color and black cartridges to create composite black in Normal and Best modes. This is necessary to create the correct grayscale shades.
  1. The color cartridge may be out of one color of ink. Perform the steps in the 'Colors are not correct' section above to verify that the ink cartridges are not low on ink.
  2. Verify that the correct paper type is selected in the Paper Type setting.
  3. Some photo paper has different chemical characteristics than Hewlett-Packard paper. The HP all-in-one is designed for use with HP Premium and Premium Plus Photo Paper. The photo paper, paper-type setting should be used with HP Photo Paper. For other paper brands, it may be necessary to use the plain paper or premium Inkjet paper, paper-type settings.
OR: The ink cartage you have may be defective if is a refilled or recharged cartage.
