Question about Maytag MMV4205 Microwave Oven
Our microwave started acting funny this morning. First it died this morning, after my husband shut the door. By died, I mean that we thought it had come unplugged. The display was dark, none of the kepyapd feature would work, and the light was off when we opened the door. Miraculously, after a few minutes of playing with the keypad, it came back on. Later today, I had something cooking in there, and after running for about 45 seconds, it died again. We unplugged it and plugged it back in and it was OK. Tonight we tested it by putting in a bowl of water. It worked until my husband opened the door. Then it died again, and even unplugging it didn't help. About 1/2 hour later we tried plugging it in again and it worked. Any idea what's up with this crazy thing? Its only about six months old.
Assuming the entire power line from the breaker to the microwave cord is okay, it's almost certainly a bad connection on the circuit board of the control panel assembly. For reference, we repair these from all over the country for $32.50 postpaid.
