I just had the same problem and was able to figure our a permanent fix.Judging by the date of you post, I'm guessing you've already remedied this problem one way or another. But just in case you haven't or someone else is having the same problem, I'll go ahead and post what to do. First, make sure you leave the USB hub plugged in right now so that Device Manager lists what it thinks is the Bluetooth device. Go into Control Manager > Hardware & Sound > Device Manager. Right click on Bluetooth device that is showing up in error. From the dropdown box, select Properties. Click the Driver Tab. Click Uninstall. Check "Delete the driver software for this device." Click OK. Unplug your USB hub for a few seconds, then plug it back in. Windows should now recognize it as a "Generic USB hub." You should be good to go. Just remember not to install that update again or try to update the driver for the Generic USB hub. If you do, you'll end up with the same problem. I hope this helps someone out there.

Where do I find drivers for a Belkin USB Hub?

Hi, when you connect a USB hub, operating system (i.e. Windows, Mac, etc ) it should install automatically a generic driver for it, only when you connect a device to USB hub, in example, a camera, you have to install drivers for that specific device according to its installation guide.

System error found

Hope this will help someone else:
InWindows' Device Manager (devmgmt.msc), the SXUPTP driver was showing as disabled.Windows gave a warning that the device was known to have stability issues. Ifound out that SXUPTP is a driver from a company called Silex. Silex makesnetwork USB hubs, so I assume that the Belkin hub is a rebranded Silex hub.

In order to update the Silex driver follow these steps:
1. Close the Belkin network hub's tray application.
2. Download the latest version of SX Virtual Link(sx-virtual_link_win_3120.zip).
3. Extract all of the files.
4. In Windows Explorer, navigate to sx-virtual_link_win_3120\s-33a3120\Files\Bin\Sxcsapi\WinVistaX64if you are running a 64 bit OS, orsx-virtual_link_win_3120\s-33a3120\Files\Bin\Sxcsapi\WinVista if you arerunning a 32 bit OS.
5. Right-click on "Sxuptp.inf" and select "Install" fromthe menu.

The driver will be installed and the warning icon in the device manager shoulddisappear. You may need to reboot for the changes to take effect.

Belkin USB Hub 10117 Driver

Those old Belkin hubs did have these issues because of dodgy firmware.

To be honest, they were rather slow speed anyway and you can buy better hubs in the dollar store these days.

Assuming you can't get it to run from the desktop icon, as long as the driver is installed which it should be, you don't need Belkin software to run your connection.

the easiest way in Vista is to go to control panel>network and sharing centre and see if network discovery is ticked green.

If not on top left of window is connect to a network, then see if your wireless connection is listed, if so click connect, if not at the bottom of the window, click set up a connection or network and follow the wizard.
