  1. Lift lid to 45 degrees and remove.
  2. Undo two screws on top of the bread machine at the front.
  3. Using a thin knife blade pop the front display panel off the machine.
  4. Undo four screws in the back of the display panel.
  5. Pull back the plastic latch at the top of the display panel and release the printed circuit board (PCB).
  6. If possible, disconnect the PCB connector so that the board can be completely removed. This is sometimes difficult to do and risks damaging the connector wiring and/or PCB. If it doesn’t easily separate, leave it attached for the next step.
  7. Identify the lithium battery, turn the PCB over and unsolder the battery legs.
  8. Adjust the legs on the new battery so that they match the holes on the PCB. Note that the legs and PCB holes are differently sized so that the battery can only go in one way.
  9. Solder the legs into the PCB.
  10. Reverse the process to reassemble.
  11. Note that the lithium battery is a CR2450 that is widely available as a button. However, the legs are “welded” onto the button so it doesn’t shake loose during operation. Don’t try to solder legs to the battery as it is impossible to get a good solder joint onto the battery case. I recommend ordering the replacement battery from Zojirushi (800) 733-6270. Alternatively, you may be able to solder in a battery holder (Google search “CR2450 battery holder”) and then it is easy to replace the battery.

My Zojirushi BBCC-S15 works even though the window blinks 8:00. Why is a battery needed?

Some automatic breadmakers have a place for inserting batteries.

The intent is to create a memory back-up for two things:

1: The digitally-displayed clock setting, and
2: Personalized program settings you save to the machine to perform again later.

Now you're not required to install or replace the batteries in your breadmaker unless you desire these settings to be maintained long after the breadmaker is unplugged.

And, if you do decide to install or replace the batteries be certain to use alkaline-grade or better.

But be forewarned though: Breadmaker clocks don't adjust for DST (Daylight Saving Time)

Hope this helps!

My zojirushi BBCC-S15 is working well even though the timer stays at 8:00 and this indicates the battery needs to be replaced. The machine does not signal any sounds during the different stages. Just what...

The battery is a back-up for the time display. Actual clock time, not the delay timer time. The battery also backs up any custom settings you created using the Homemade mode. Hope this helps.

I have a Zojirushi bbcc-s15, and it started to leak from the bottom pan. The felt washer on the bottom has fallen off. Where can I find or how can I replace the outer and inner parts?

Hi,
All those parts are part of the sealed bearing that is stamped into the bottom of the pan. Unfortunately they can't be replaced and you will need a new bread pan. Sorry Hank

Lost of manual

Just downloaded it myself from the company site. Here's the link - you will need adobe acrobat reader to open the file. That can be gotten from www.adobe.com.

Ok, here's the link for real this time ;)

Need a replacement timing/driving belt for a Zojirushi BBCC-S15 bread maker.

I had great success in finding what I wanted for my breadmaker at http://breadmakerpartsemporium.ioffer.com/. They have manuals and parts for most breadmakers at very reasonable prices.

Zojirushi BBCC-S15 Flashing Lights won't reset

Reading my manual...the built-in lithium battery can be good for 4-5 years. The blinking"8:00 am" would indicate the problem. I am at that point now, but to send in the machine to fix it would be a challenge...
