I turn it on and it feezes on the initializing screen and wont load or budge?it tays stuckon the same screen?what do do?please help me?

To update the firmware of the M42xx mp3 player click here
and download the firmware. start the firmware and when it is runnin
plug the M42xx in at the same time holding down the PLAY BUTTON
(center) until a white screen with a small computer with a line going
to your M42xx is displayed and then release the PLAY button. You can
then click on start and the firmware update will complete,,, DO NOT
DISCONNECT DURING THIS UPDATE... it may take 2 times to complete this
but it will work.... YEA!!!!

I don't know what to do to get the player working again. RCA was bought out by Audiovox and they are hard to reach and offer no solution to fix the problem. They told me to download firmware well if you try to do this from the link they provide it says the page can not be found... I called them about this and no one seems to know anything there. RCA has went down the tubes in my book. Anyone know how to fix this? I will never by RCA (Audiovox) Again!!!
my mp3 player has been stuck on the initializing creen all night. noone buy them. if u want something good. buy an ipod. they cost more and have less memory but they accualy work.

omgggg my rca 8gb is stuck on the intailizing screen too.. it's annoying, i just got this too.i can turn it off and off but it just stays on that screen, i tihnk it started when it wouldn't play all of "single ladies", just 5 seconds. then it got stuck on the radio screen and you couldn't hear anything. and now the intializing screen, this sucks..

This MP3 player is a peice of SHYT!!! I had to take the first one back after having it a whopping total of 15 days. The second one worked for about 2 months fine (except for the occasional times when it would shut off for no reason and when you cut it back on it takes forever and when if finally comes on all of the settings have been restored to the default settings--volume, shuffle off, etc.). Anyway, today I was listening to it on my way to the train and it just shut off and won't come back on...it doesn't even light up when I press the power button. And check this!! I was just looking at it again while I was typing this and it's making some type of hissing noise! I put it on my back porch in case it explodes LOL

I have tried to update the player but it just says plug in your player. Nothing works I am so mad. I have contacted RCA about 20 times through emails, ask a question site, and over the phone. I tried to update it and it wouldn't update so i used the company
instructions by unplugging it, holding the power button for 10 seconds,
holding the play button and plugging it back in, then letting go of the
play button when a screen came on that had text and a computer came
on. It then started to update but halfway through it said error "Drive
has been disconnected" but it hadn't and now it wont work. The
computer realizes it is there as "Removable Disk (E:)" but every time i
click on it it says it needs to be formatted and if i allow it to be
formatted then it just says it cant be and if i click no then nothing
happens. Please Help.
