Question about HP Pavilion zd8000 Notebook
Yes could be a graphics card problem, try uninstalling drivers through your device manager(right click my computer>properties>hardware tab>device manager)and click the '+' sign on your display adapter, then right click and uninstal. Reboot and allow windows to find hardware and drivers again. Other suggestion is normally, there is a facility on laptops to re-install certain drivers from a restore patitition on your hard drive.

My problem - with my thinkpad r40, is that after a 1/2, the display gets really out of focus and then strange vertical tracking lines appear, then the computer freezes. To me, it is as though something is heating up and then overheating and slowly stopping working.
Help
I have uninstalled and re-installed drivers.
I try to play games on my notebook but it doesn't work. I think i need a graphics card driver.
