Barry, remove the back cover by removing the screws with an arrow next to them. The fuse is located on the left side as viewed from the back, where the power cord connects to the circuit board.
it may be open contact on the flyback or
bad solder in standby power supply
Give it a smack open hand on the side
or better yet if you can have someone press
the power button as you rock it back and forth
this can tell you if its bad solder some times.
My picture would go out after several minutes but I still had sound. I
took the rear cover off and blew all the dust off with compresed air.I
did this for a few times over several days nothing happened.I also took
off the rear circuit board that attaches to the tube with a round pin
socket and blew that with compressed air and put it back on. The TV has
now worked for two days without the picture going out. It
worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My TV is 9 years old.
the power is blinking because there is a deffective parts... the supply that makes oscillation of tv has been cut off... either the horizontal transistor is open or the resistor from the abl change its value...if you have knowledge with the parts maybe you can try... only the qualified servicemen can repair the problems...
That is the only fuse. Its purpose is not so much to protect the
TV parts but to establish the UL rating by protecting against
overcurrents and fire.
Next thing to check is the B+ voltage (125 to 160Vdc) on the big
electrolytic capacitor near the power entry. No volts here tells
you the problem is before this in the power supply parts. After
here means the high-voltage supply.
Check that and get backl to us.
Death can occur from a simple power supply fuse to the anything inside. Now if you are confident that you can try to fix it on your own, start from the fuses, and check for possible shorted components if the fuse is blown.
I have a SONY WEGA 3 years old KV-32XL90E and have the same problem the Stand By/Timer light
blinks 16 TIMES, pauses and then does it again. The sound is but no picture.
intermittent problems can usuall be liked to bad solder connections. And sony typically has some that will develop after a few years in the power supply. so check for bad sodler connections throught the main board & give a close look to the power supply & check you work after to make sure you have no shorted pins.
good luck.
