I just got my numark cdx and everytime i put a cd in it pops it out doesnt say anything except cd out what can be the problem (I have tried to put "official" CDs as well as "unofficial")
I have 2 CDX dex, one of them will not read discs at all now, it just spits them out. its not the cd player because i have changed them over from the deck that works and it still wont read discs, i have also changed the ribbon cable which worked for a couple of days and now is back to not reading discs. is there any other part i can replace that will fix this as i know its not the cd player or the ribbon cable???

Does it pop out immediately? If not, listen carefully to the drive after you insert the disc. Can you hear the disc spinning? Any activity from the laser? If the disc is not spinning but you can hear the faint whirring and clicking of the laser transport, it could be that the laser itself has failed - it's the laser that detects if a CD is present. If it doesn't detect anything (due to being knackered!), the disc will not spin and will eject.

Hi Mitchdias,
Have you tried downloading the most recent rom update for the CDN-90?
All you need to do is download it from here http://www.numark.com/contentmgr/showdetails.php/id/1493/tt/5 , then burn the download to disc. Once that's done, put the disc into the player, switch the player off and wait 10 seconds, then switch it back on again. the player will read the disc and flash the ROM. this should reset the player for you. Before you ask, you can out the disc into either side of the player. Full instructions are given with the download.
The CD transport (reader) is shot. These units are known for this! To date, they still havent fully corrected the problem. A band-aid fix is to buy a new transport thru numark or parts dealer.
Numark has yet fix this issue. You will need a replacement CD drive, they swap right out. Their warehouse is located in Cumberland RI (US). Unless you could score one on ebay. I have about 3 of them, you interested?
I'm sorry to tell you this, but my advice would be to buy a pair of Pioneer CDJ-800s or CDJ-1000s
I can't see the 800s costing you much more that what paid for the Numarks, and there's a reason why the Pioneers are used extensively in nightclubs, and the Numarks aren't.
hello, there should 4 little black screws on the top of the cd tray when it is removed from the deck. two of them are on the rear top in black plastic. the other two are holding the silver plate down as well. remove those four screws. the top should slide off. after that is off, you should be able to see how the disc is being secured. careful not to pry any thing it should all come apart. good luck.
If you haven't sent it in the You see the four screws Were You put the Cd in at? Take them Out... then There is two tab on the bottom where you pull the drive out but be careful when taking apart
There are many users with the same problem.
I have it also with one of my cdx.
Dr see d'EX at youtube; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnAGKnzQaJs
shows a modification to solve this problem.
He makes a kind of cushion with a ducktape and
tries to fix a cable at the back of the player.
Anyway, i've tried it and it worked ... for a while.
Know the problem consists, and I will take my
Unit to a service point.
It is a shame that there is no sufficient information on the net
regarding this problem. Many cdx owners have this problem.
Numark says the lens needs to be replaced.
to be continued.
