Try this instead, find the connection where the ignition switch plugs into the wiring harness, just fallow the wires, disconnect the plug, hook up a 12v battery to the bike, find the solinoid and use a heavy gauge jumper wire to jump from the side the pos+ battery cable connects to over to the side the starter connects to. The bike should start fine, DO NOT forget to unhook the jumper wire after its started or it will ruin the starter.jumper wire jumper wwire

SOURCE: How to wire a tach on 05 heritage softail

Locate & route Black lead to ground / 2004-later softail: On the frame strap under the seat directly in front of the battery.

Locate & route the pink lead to Signal / For 2004 & later FXST/C/I The #3 cavity in the connector {39b} on the back of the speedometer. The socket terminal on the signal (pk) lead fits the #3 cavity.

Locate & route the Orange and white lead to power / Ummm.. it's saying for 2004 and later to adapt to the fuse block For earlier [ For 1996 to 2003 softail: locate the power lead (o/w) in the tail lamp pin connector {7a} under the seat behind the right rear corner of he battery.] "here you are looking to run it to a fused line, not directly to power/battery" I hope this helped.

MMM, fun... for a start the 3 whites should be right no matter which way they go, the other 4 i'd look at whether they have male or female conectors if possible, if they're bunched together etc, two should be from the ignition, and I think the other 2 are pos. & neg for the coil or coil + and one for earth, depending on the wiring of your bike

Removed my electric start on my 2003 trailblazer. because it didnt work now iam trying to hook up oem starter wires under my dash but unable to vehicle ride for 2 secounds and dies

By bypassing the factory ignition, you have cut out a VERY important part of the trucks anti theft security system that you probably didnt even know was there. These system will turn off injectors to eliminate theft. Basically, your truck knows you hotwired it and aint going anywhere. This link explains the problem, and there is a way to bypass this security system on there too. You can beat this yourself. Check out this link. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

Hi, bought my son a kazuma meerkat quad 50cc 2010 model electric start, unable to start the quad with the electric start? when ignition on & start button pressed selonoid clicks once & a sometimes...

I had the same problem. My positive wire would arc with the key off when connecting the battery showing a short somewhere. I disconnected the regulator/ rectifier, (where the #16 positive lead from the battery goes to), and it quit. I found a new one on e-bay for $9.90 after shipping and it corrected the problem. Check to make sure your positive is not arcing with the key off. Hope this helps.

Kazuma 90 cc quad will not start with a new starter installed. Engine can be cranked easily. When start button is pressed it only clicks.

the clicking sound is the starter solenoid,, which means there is not enough juice to turn the starter. charge or replace battery

Kazuma battery will not hold a charge

This is a common problem with chinese atvs. I installed a toggle switch on the positive wire from the battery. When my daughter is finished riding, I simply flip the switch and all power to the bike is killed, preserving the battery.
