Question about Kenmore 63763 Microwave Oven
Stainless Steel w Kenmore Elite 36 in. 2.0 cu. ft. Microhood Combination Model 63763 Have had this since 10/04 love it! But just today when I went to use it to warm up my tea for a minute it stopped at 53 seconds (I've done this many times over!) always stops at 53 seconds! weird for some reason! Then on display panel it shows F-9. Any ideas let me know ASAP ! Thanks!
Generally the F9 code indicates a problem with the door latch (usually upper) or with the control board. You can do a Google search for my text file "doorsw.txt" to help you diagnose and repair door switch trouble. BUT - since it always stops at 53 seconds, that leads me to think you have trouble with the control unit (circuit board / controller assembly). Once you read and digest the info on door switches, please feel free to do an updated post and I'll be happy to help you further. It may be corrupted ROM in the control unit. But let us know what you find out. - online they call me "William E. Miller, AS-EET"

f9 code
Microwave runs for 12 seconds...then stops and displays F-9 error code. A clicking noise can be heard directly behind the keypad during the 12 second run time. From what I have read here it sounds like the control board. Has anyone ever replaced one?
O.K. Sorry I misinformed you. I opened up the microwave and found a tech sheet. F9 indicates inverter failure. 1. unplug the oven for at least 40 seconds, check to see if this solves the problem. 2. check the resistance of thermostat. it should be close to 0 ohm. 3. check wiring to inverter and control system. 4. replace inverter module. 5. if problem persist replace control system asembly. This is what it has listed.
