Okay.. I am looking for a Turntable hub or a Carousel hub for my microwave... It is a Westinghouse and the model number on it is as follows... WST3507... I have not been able to find that model listed anywhere on line... but long story short... I need this much needed hub due to the fact that it is plastic and have begun to melt away. Is there a posibility that there was a typo in the model number and it should be WST3501??? Either way I really do need this part. Can you help me??? [email protected]

I would say you have a failing door switch or the mount which holds your door switch is loose or broken. In most designs, it is the upper door switch that will produce these very symptoms when it is intermittent or its mount is broken or loose. There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door hooks latch when you close the door. The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly. Usually it's not a loose screw, but instead a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. Slamming the door, damage during shipping or transportation and sloppy manufacturing techniques or materials are the primary causes of trouble with the door switch mounts. Opening the door while cooking (without first hitting the STOP pad) is the primary cause of door switch failure. I have a text file called "doorsw.txt" which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems, and a file called "safety.txt" which is of vital importance. You can find these files via a Google search. In some cases, the problem is a bad connection or a bad relay on the control board. That's something we see from time to time, and we repair those nationwide, but it's usually a door switch. If you still have a problem, please write back with more detail. Be safe!

Just a postscript: I don't necessarily think you have a dangerous situation, but it could be or become one.
I would bet that right now the only things actually "running" are the fan and the light.
But for a microwve to actually cook when you don't want it to can be dangerous, so it's best to get this checked out. It does pose a potential fire or burn hazard.

I have a Magic Chef microwave oven, model number MCO 160UQ. The microwave oven fans comes on randomly. It shuts off after some fifteen minutes. What could cause this?
Please answer to: [email protected]
Thanks, Maury
I have a similar problem with my magic chef. It will just fire up and run. The only way to stop this ,is to open the door. Hiting cancel does nothing.
as soon as I plug the microwave in and the door is closed it starts running and won't stop.
