Have you cleaned the heads lately? Or the focus sensor. My previous advice for some one else is to clean the heads every 25 hrs of play. Buy a commercial tape cleaner. Try that first. If that doesn't help you may need to take it to a camera shop and have it cleaned and re-aligned because of normal usage after 2 years. Probably your best option.

During operation, my DSR-200a intermittently starts a very slow zoom all by itself, without my hand touching it. When I zoom back out, it starts zooming in again by itself...any ideas? Thanks

This is a malfunction in the zoom control switch and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. There is control switch block that has zoom/wide switch along with play, rewind, forward, stop, pause buttons and this switch block flip up and down while ejecting/ load tape in camcorder, this will be replaced as zoom/wide switch got defective and sending continues command of zoom to system control chip.
Let me know if you need part number of switch block control for DCR-TRV120

When i zoom in the picture is all fuzzy

digital zoom is different from optical zoom. when using digital zoom, you have to keep the camera very, very, very still. may even have to use a tripod.
