Can't go above Channel 20 when input on Video.

I have a Toshiba LCD HD TV with the DVW-7100 DVD/VCR player. The remote will not work that came with the DVD/VCR player so I am using the Toshiba remote. I can't go above Channel 20 when I have the input on video even though I have done the scan several times and have no channels blocked. What do I do?

I was told by Sanyo and Toshiba that I will have to have a Sanyo remote in order to change the tuner from TV to CATV which he said is causing me to be unable to get above a certain channel and also to change the settings in order to use the Progressive scan cables, so I have emailed a remote finder site and they are trying to find a Sanyo remote for me.

How do I get the VCR to play on the tv? It's a Sanyo DVW-7100 DVDPlayer/VCR Combo. The DVD will play but the VCR won't show up on the TV.

This maybe too simplistic but are you sure you have the right command buttons toggled try to set the player to VCR and not dvd.
Set the player to VCR with a tape in it and press play. I hope this works for you

What channel does the tv need to be on to operate the dvd player? The dvd player comes on but it doesn't recognize the button commands on the tv-do no have the remote.

channel 3 or 4. if that doesnt work switch the input on the tv. the input button might be labelled input/source/tv-video or av. if you arent getting a pic while the dvd player is playing look at the back of the tv and see where the cable from the dvd player is going into the tv. it is labelled what input it should be on. ex: video 1, etc. hope this helps.

Need the remote code for a phillips dvd player

These are the codes printed in the owners manual for your dvd/vcr player. If they do not work you will have to contact Emerson and ask them for help getting the code. The contact number should have come with the instructions for the remote. Just give them the model number of you remote and the units model number and they should be able to help you. I hope this information helps you with your problem. Switch the input selector on your TV to an appropriate external input channel (usually near channel 0).
Press a button on the TV’s original remote control that selects an external input channel until the DVD
recorder’s picture appears. Check your TV owner’s manual for details.

Hd tv to vcr

What model and manufacturer DVD/VCR combo are you using. if it has a HDMI port, you should buy a HDMI cable to your combo player than to your HDTV (most don't have this High Definition port.) 6f3606c.jpg
otherwise, it probably contains a composite port, connect the red to the red (Left) white to white (mono) and yellow to yellow (Video) than connect the wires to the matching port on your HDTV) then switch the input to AV or Composite. 9701d83.jpgb5e3eb0.jpg

If this fails, you need a coaxial cable.85dec5e.jpgconnect a coaxial cable to your player then to the coaxial port on your tv. change the input to "either Coaxial, Cable 3 or any input that sets it to coaxial input.

Note: Video Input selection varies for different brands/models of TVs. Consult the user manual or manufacturer or your TV if none of the below is successful.

      • For some TVs, there may be a button on the TV’s remote control that accesses the video input channel labeled SOURCE, AV or SELECT.
        OR
