Panel front the front panel buttons have never worked since first purchased. all functions work perfectly but only by using the remote. the second unit purchased front panel buttons worked fine is there some sort of lock etc????

Please power cycle your tv and check that it's connected as it used to be when the video-button was working for you. You can also power cycle your sherwood device before attempting your initial procedure/button press again. If it still does not work, please test that your speakers are able to function with other items in your location in order to eliminate the speakers as the potential cause of the issue.

If the PARENTAL CTRL function is set to ON while you are locking out channels, each channel will go blank as you lock it. When the PARENTAL CTRL function is set to ON and a channel which has been locked out is tuned, the TV will display the words PARENTAL CONTROL to let your kids know you have locked it.

During stop or power off, hold the stop/eject button on the unit for at least seven seconds.

With unit on and no cassette inside, hold the rec/time button on the front of unit for 7 seconds.

CTV's Lock Mode
Only the on/off button will work,the others have no effect. Press the action and power buttons at the same time on the front of the set for 10 seconds or so.

LCD TV's, Lock Mode
If customer forgot Parental Lock Code, unit must be re-initialized.
Press and hold the Volume down button on the front panel, press the OK button on the remote for 5 seconds.

DVD's Lock Mode
Setting Method
The sales demonstration lock function is set by simultaneously pressing the "POWER" button of DVD Player on the remote control unit and the "STOP" button on the main unit. ("LOCKED" is displayed when the lock function is engaged.)
Release Method

Try unplugging the set for 12 to 24 hours. if that does not work, theres a problem in the remote sensor circuit or the microprocessor circuit. its going to need a pro to fix it as it meeds trouble shooting.
