You can download the printer software from this link so you can reinstall it to your computer, just select the operating system that your computer is using
I had the same problem. I finally totally uninstalled the printer from my computer, downloaded the "new" software from the Brother site, and reinstalled it. This is what finally worked for me (WinXPProf.).
