Images on the screen have a light red outline on the left side. Not as noticeable with a close-up image. Also there is the same light red color on the right side of the screen about 1 inch wide from top to bottom and across the top of the screen.Very noticeable when there is a white or light colored background. Is this a convergence problem?

Re: Light red outline
Yes my freind it is a convergence problem. There are two stand up IC's standing upright about a 2"X3" square. they start with STK. You should just replace them both if you have any solid state repair experience. If you dont, please stay safe and call in a trained tech to assist you with this repair. Good Luck

The liquid coolant between the guns and the lenses may be fogged, low, or both. If the red gun has fogged coolant, you'll see red fringing around objects. It can be drained and refilled with new coolant, but it's gotta be the right stuff. You may be able to get some from a junk set, as I have done with success. Shine a light into the front of each lens. If the liquid has gone bad, you'll be able to see it.

The Samsung has bad convergence IC's most likly. This should be repair ONLY by a trained technician as a TV set is not a place to experiment or tinker with because of the extremly high voltage inside. This repair should cost you in the range of 250 to 400 bucks . Good Luck
