Light red outline

Images on the screen have a light red outline on the left side. Not as noticeable with a close-up image. Also there is the same light red color on the right side of the screen about 1 inch wide from top to bottom and across the top of the screen.Very noticeable when there is a white or light colored background. Is this a convergence problem?

I also have the red line problem on my television. I didn't notice the line until I got HD and thought it was the HD signal. But when I went back to a standard channel, I noticed it there as well. I purchased my TV in 2002 and the lamp has at least 18,000 hours on it so I am thinking it may be part of the problem?

Sorry Techman, you're wrong on this one. This is a Rear projection LCD set. There is no convergence. I'm betting you've got a bad light engine.

Yes my freind it is a convergence problem. There are two stand up IC's standing upright about a 2"X3" square. they start with STK. You should just replace them both if you have any solid state repair experience. If you dont, please stay safe and call in a trained tech to assist you with this repair. Good Luck PS please dont forget to rate this thread
