Code 5d My washer gives a code of 5d just after washing a load and when it is about to go into the drain cycle. Do this mean that the pump is bad?

I have a Kenmore HE2t Front loading washer. After each cycle an error code of 5d is shown on the display. What does this error code mean?

The 5d code is actually an Sd code and it means suds have been detected in the washer. This can indicate to much soap or the wrong kind of soap was used in the washer. Be sure HE detergent is being used. If can also indicate the drain pump is restricted or the drain hose is kinked.

My kenmore he2 plus washer gave me a 5d code and door locked ...

Getting nd code and load will not drain water after washing and will not go into spin mode. I replaced the drain pump (one vane on pump broke) but still getting the code. I checked and cleaned all hoses...

"nd" means: Your washer is not draining. It can also mean that the unit senses a small clog while draining. Before calling for service, check the following.

1) Turn off the unit and turn it on again.
2) Select only the Spin Cycle.
3) Press the Start/Pause to drain the water.
If it still does not drain, call for service.

So it sounds like it knows its not draining but wants to. If you can hear the pump driving, it is a clog somewhere. If you don't hear the pump driving, it could be the pump has died.

For all you do-it-yourselfers out there, I got this information from the user manual I found at:

Long spin cycle of my Samsung WF8590NHM Front Load Washer is always interrupted and throws this flashing "5d" error code.

Hi.

The error code is not 5D but SD, which means slow drain detected.

Check drain hose. Check drain filter attached to the pump. Check pump itself and pressure switch.

Regards.

What dos 5d means before the spin. When the time

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error 5d means too much detergent was used. Try the following procedure---

Run the unit through a RINSE/SPIN cycle.
Run a NORMAL cycle without adding any detergent.

This should clear the unit of the excess detergent. If still the problem persists, then please check the following things--

1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check wire harness connections to the drain pump, pressure switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU).
4. Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. Check drain pump.
7. Check the pressure switch.
8. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic Test or any cycle and replace the part that has gone bad.

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Error code Sd (or 5d)

It means Suds Lock(Overdose of Detergent Detected During The Wash Cycle). If suds are detected continuously by the pressure switch during the drain or spin phases, the washer will fill 4 litres of water and during 5 minutes the unit will rest without tumbling, the water will be drained and it will try to spin or drain again.

If too much detergent was used:
– Run the unit through a Rinse/Spin cycle.
– Run a Normal cycle without adding any detergent.
This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check wire harness connections to the drain pump, pressure switch and Central Control Unit(CCU).
4. Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. Check drain pump.
7. Check the pressure switch.
8. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic Test.

What does code F21 mean on a Kenmore HE2 plus washer 11047532602?

it stands for longer than normal drain interval, press "pause/cancel" twice to clear, if it returns then look for obstructions in the water drain from the basket all the way to the drain in the house,or possibly it could be a bad washer drain pump
