U have all the tools like a soldering iron,a desoldering pump or a roll of desoldering braid and pretty good at doing soldering work, because were talking about ICS here?Must take out the covergence board to replaced 2 convergence ICS and some or all of it resitors. The websites like Tvrepairworld.com,Tvrepairkits.com have a convergence kits, just look for ur DLP tvs make and models for ur convergence kits.Or the shop, will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.
hello if you can use a soldering iron you shouldn't have any problems but you will need to test the resistor in front of the ic and the capacitors at either end of the ic ! the ic usually located to the right hand side of the tv behind the tuner board connected to metal frame called a heatsink 2 big black chip good luck
I asume you're talking about convergence IC's? The IC's themselves are about $50.00 total convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks! See link for more detail http://www.ehow.com/how_4575598_yourself-projection-tv-repair-convergence.html
Check all fuses in the power supply and look for any bad connrctions on the PCB. You are probably missing the 130 volt supply to the horizontal circuit. Common reasons are: Shorted horiz output transistor; flyback transformer, picture tube arcing , bad power regulator IC. In short, you need to get a qualified tech for this symptom. Hope this helps.
This sounds like the typical toshiba power regulator ic fault. it begins with an str##### Its not something a handyman should try to tackle. It should be repaired by a quilified repair person Sorry Good Luck
