Sometimes more than one button pushed [same time] on the tv itself can create an undesireable mode or setting. You may need an original remote to correct this. Contact Orion Sales at 1 800 289 0980
On the remote control is a button called closed caption or CC.. Someone turned on the closed caption. Simply turn off the closed caption. That black box is called the text box. Good Luck
