I have a 43FDX11B model that I was not able to manually adjust per the digital array feature described in the manual. A local authorized service tech said he would need to remove the board and take to his shop. What would be a fair ballpark estimate of fixing as opposed to replacing the component?
Do not adjust any knobs as instucted in the previous thread if you TV have a convergence problem. Doing so will only make things worse. The blog does however show you how to fix other common problems with these sets.
Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem
Here is a quick test....
Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.
Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.
You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.
If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaCONVERGENCE BOARD PROBLEM? - 2c07611.pngs a common problem.
Solution #1
You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.
About $300 for them to do it depending on what you need
about $80 in parts to do it your self

If I were to replace the "Board" to fix the convergence problem:
Where is it located?
Do I need special tools?
Where can I buy a new one?
Don't the projectors need to be adjusted? And can I accomplish the adjustment on my own?
