AKAI PDP4290 I have a 3 year old plasma tv. When I press the power button it lights up but the screen is blank. Is this fixable or a lost cause? Thanks

Maybe the plasma controllers are gone.

Hold a flashlight up to screen about 2 inches and see if you see a picture, and if so then it's the inverter board, you can check shopjimmy.com to see the price.

first try to reattch all coneection to your televison.
then open the back side cover of your tv then reattch all connectiuon there .
Also clean dust from all circuit.

the photon charges at the back of the tv might be damaged, try to take it in to be repaired if not i suggest u buy a new one, please, please, please do not take it apart to fix it urself, alot of bad burns have happened to people who try to fix plasma tv's.

Probably what happend to mine. It's all the same problem. It's actually fixable. I repaired mine.

i recomend you sign up for this program, and after 90 days. call for service. They more than likely will replace your TV's.

Same thing for me. TV just turned off one day and won't come back on. LED flashes red. Someone said it's because a cooling fan went out. If I can't find someone to fix it I'll take it apart and tinker myself. 32" with dvd built in was barely over a year old.

Hello drifter,The design of the tv enables the auto search to detect any input signal you have selected. It could be TV (off air, video signals etc) so just switch on whatever inputs to the akai plasma befote you switch the Akai plasma on and let it do the work for you. just relax and watch the tv. recap 1. switch on the input eg video deck, DVD, VCD, or satellite dish. 2. switch on your AKAI PLASMA and 3. wait for the akai to search for your input signals. TRy this simple procedure and if it doesnt work just post back the message. The DON

yes you it is fixable you are having a micro chip problem or a power supply problem. take it to a tech.to have it repair.
