Self cleaning I used the self cleaning on my oven and now the digital screen says F1 and the door wont unlock. How do I fix this problem. I need to use my oven. The oven did smoke also at first then it stopped. Please help I need the oven. I am not sure is it is a JJW9330D but it is a Jenn Air oven with a four element cook top. Thanks Maryann

Our oven door locked when one of the kids bumped into it.  It's a frigidaire electric oven with a gas range. Tried every combination of buttons.  Got the clue from the above solution.  Just by holding the cancel button down for a few seconds opened it up.

Maryann, try shutting the breaker off for 5 minutes and see if the door unlocks. Im assuming the oven has cooled down. If that doesn't work try holding the cancel and broil pads for 3 seconds. This will put it into the quik test mode. Once in this mode press the clean button. This should toggle between lock and unlock. Don't know if this will work for you but it's worth a try..Catriver...post back.

Used self cleaning process on my oven yesterday and today the oven will not turn on, we keep getting message to unlock the oven door even though it is. What can we do?

The oven gets extremely hot during the self-cleaning mode... the door switch might have got stuck in locked position, or broken in locked position (to be replaced), let's hope it's just stuck...which you'll need to work the mechanical lock-unlock latching back and forth to hopefully unstick....and if that doesn't work just re-run self-cleaning process but this time let the oven cool completely before unlocking the door. Hope this helps.

After self-cleaning, door won't unlock

This is a common problem when people use that feature, it often "Blows" the Thermistor, which is indeed what F1 means it must be replaced, sometimes a restart, off/and ON again at the unit and cycle the breaker.

Self cleaning won't shut off

that is because it needs to cool down before the oven will unlock. There should be a timer running and when it gets to "zero" it should unlock.

Oven wont work after self clean

I have a Whirlpool MOD. RBS275PDB17 single electric self-cleaning oven; although the manual is generic, it specifies, "When the cycle is completed and the oven cools, "End" will appear on the lower oven display and "LOCKED' will disappear" and "To Stop Self-Clean any time: Press UPPER/OFF, LOWER/OFF or OFF/CANCEL. If the oven temperature is too high, the door will remain locked. It will not unlock until the oven cools." Has your oven had time to cool?
