Re: dryer stopped working
Plumber, pop the top on the dryer by pushing on the two clips just under the top on each side. In the back you will see the heater. You want to check the high limit thermostat (this one sits on the top side of the heater) and the thermal fuse (sits on the side about 4 inches down. Unplug the dryer and check them with a meter. If either shows open (no continuity) replace them. Make sure your venting is not clogged up and the heater is not grounded or fractured. Part number for the high limit is 53-0771 and for the thermal fuse is LA-1053. Check these first...Catriver...post back.
Unable to find your exact model, but I do have cye4000ayw. parts should be the same.

Check panel for tripped breaker. Check with a volt meter that you have 2 legs of 125v to back of dryer. See youtube for demonstration of testing. Can you hear the timer run? It is pretty quiet, but is a ticking noise.
Do you have power going to the receptacle. You can first go to your house panel and look for the circuit breaker for the dryer (usually a 30 amp 2-pole brkr.). It could be tripped. So first, put your dryer in the off position. Next, go back to your circuit breaker in your house panel. Turn off the breaker, and then turn it back on. This should reset the circuit breaker for the dryer. Then go back and try turning on your dryer. If this doesn't work, feel free to contact me again. However, this would seem to be it. Good Luck to you!
Check your switch on the door first. Its like a light switch. If you have a volt ohm meter switch it to the ohm setting and test both leads coming from the switch. Have the power cord unplugged first to prevent shoc. No power is needed to test Ohm ratings
My dryer stopped working during a cycle last night and won't start again. The light is no longer coming on either. The first thing I checked was the circuit breaker which was fine. Can anyone tell me other possibilities?
