Question about Encore ENLTV-FM-HA (CTETVC)

1 Answer

Failure To Initialize Hardware

Whenever I try to launch my ENLTV utility, (the included program on the CD) it gives me a "Failed To Initialize Hardware" error message. I have installed and reinstalled the software several times, and it still refueses to work. I have reseated the card as well inside my computer, and it continues to give me a problem. The card I have is a "ENLTV-FM Tuner" I bought it from Newegg some time ago, and the card has worked in the past, but it refuses to work now. I need help trying to get this thing to work! Please Help!

I have found a solution to the problem, as far as the ENLTV-tuner goes on a windows XP Pro.

Uninstall all drives for the device, using the device manager.
Right-click My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager.

The device should be listed as "Multimedia controller" or similar.

Right click and uninstall the drives, and restart computer if neccessary.

Now, scan computer for hardware changes. Windows should detect a new Multimedia controller. DO NOT use the included CD drives. Instead, use the "generic" windows drivers by saying 'automatically search for drives on this computer.' Be sure to remove the CD from your CD Tray.

Windows should find the required drivers, and install them, You can now install the ENLTV utility (basically, the TV program). This should work.

I have twice now had the "Failed to initilize hardware" problem after reinstalling windows on my computer. This solution worked both times.

OK I think your problem may be that you need to install/reinstall the drivers.
Does it show up in Device Manager? If so, Uninstall it, reboot and then reinstall the drivers when, if? XP detects it and asks for drivers.
Hopefully this will sort it. If not, then maybe ya card is faulty.

Probably cause: The Windows Registry is corrupt.

1. Try to set back a recent but older Recovery Point from the System Recovery.

I'm am trying to play age of mythology and after the movie ends, error appears and states "initialization failed".

Initialization failed

This means that the game is attempting to initialize hardware such as the video card but has failed

This can be caused by a number of factors.

1. Your hardware does not meet the games hardware requirements
2. Your hardware requires farther configuration to run the game properly

if you are certan that the game supports your hardware you may need to perform
some extra steps to get your game working

"Failed to initialize" is an incomplete error message because it does not tell you what exactly failed
a more complete error message would read "Failed to initialize the video subsystem" and then it would give an error code such as Error Code xxx telling you exactly what error code to look up
to determine what exactly failed.

Most of the time when a game says ( failed to initialize ) that means a video issue
this may mean missing files or wrong versions of files or incompatable hardware.

Cannot Initialize API

1. Try to launch Creator Classic to see if it can repair the engine files. a. Double click on the "Roxio Easy Media Creator Home" icon. b. Click "Creator Classic" under the "Applications" section. c. The Windows installer should launch and ask you to insert your installation disc

Try this and see how it works, if it does not, contact me and give me more details

ENLTV- Failed to initialize Hardware. followed steps. STILL PROBLEM!!!!!

Your hardware technically hasn't gone anywhere, it is still inside your computer. However, the drives for said hardware may have dissapeard. Try installing the drivers from the CD, and see if Windows recognizes the hardware then. If it does, follow the steps in the previous solution to reinstall generic drivers. ***DO NOT REMOVE OLD DRIVERS FIRST*** Just select "update drivers" instead. See if that helps. In the meantime, I am going to see if I can replicate your problem, or see if someone else can help.

ENLTV- Failed to initialize Hardware. followed steps. STILL PROBLEM!!!!!

Look at the FAQ in "When you see "Failed to Initialize Hardware" message, please be sure Video Card driver and Sound Card driver are properly installed by checking Device Manager under Computer Management. If the above conditions are met and you are still experiencing problem, it is necessary to perform a hardware reset procedure on the card. Here's how: power down the computer, unplug the TV Tuner Card from the motherboard, remove the jumper on the card (pin 2 and 3) and then put it back. Power back up the computer and then try to run the software again." It seems that the card have some kind of issue that "hangs" its hardware, you should try also another TV Program like K-TV. Mine did exactly that "Failed to initalize Hardware" but the free K-TV program worked! :)

my computer hang everytime i install enltv.i follow your steps but it also hang.what should i do?pls help me..
